June 30, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries Santos Castaneda ODESSA Santos Castaneda, 74, of Odessa died Thursday, June 28, 2001, in Odessa. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Fidelo Lugo officiating. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2001, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. She was born Nov. 1, 1926, in El Paso and was a lifelong resident of Odessa. She was a homemaker. She was Catholic. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia Hernandez and Benito Bueno. She is survived by her daughters, Petra Lopez and husband Jesus of Odessa, Delfina Castellanos of Odessa and Virginia Payne and husband Kenneth of San Angelo; sons, Armando Llamas and wife Sandy of Odessa, Manuel Castaneda and wife Estela of California, Jesus Castaneda and wife Alicia of Odessa, Antonio Castaneda of Odessa, Daniel Castaneda of Odessa, Alfonso Castaneda and wife Maria Leticia of New Mexico and Salvador Castaneda and wife Josefina of Anthony, N.M.; brothers, Cruz Hernandez, Beto Hernandez and Lauro Hernandez, all of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico; 35 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. Our mom was a very beloved mom by all her sons, daughters and grandchildren. Well miss her dearly. May God keep her in a safe place for us.
