July 06, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries Mary Lou Bowman ODESSA Mary Lou Bowman, 76, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2001. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tom Hiser of Sherwood Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mary was born on July 6, 1924, to Clyde and Mary Roberson in Yukon, Okla. She married Bill Buford Bowman on January 10, 1942, in Reydon, Okla. They moved to Odessa from Shamrock in 1952. She was a retired cafeteria worker for Blanton Elementary where she worked for 10 years. She was a member of the Rebekahs & Royal Neighbors. She loved playing cards and dominoes and also enjoyed camping and traveling. She was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. Her husband Bill and grandson, Donald Winkler, Jr. preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Jack Bowman of Dallas, Rex Bowman of Odessa, Kenneth Bowman of Raleigh, N.C., Jon Bowman of Plano; daughter, Linda Bowman of Odessa; grandchildren, Jason Bowman, Katrina Herrera, Wendy Bowman, Erin Bowman, Bill Bowman, Jennifer Chapin, Jeff Winkler and Abigail Bowman; great-grandchildren, Ethan Bowman, Kaitlyn Winkler, Angel Herrera, Adam Herrera, Andrew Herrera, Carlos Ferriero and Felix Ferriero. The family has requested memorials to Rebekah Lodge and Sherwood Baptist Church. Services entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Leanora Bunch ODESSA Leanora Bunch, 63, of Odessa passed away on July 3, 2001 in Odessa. She was born December 8, 1937, to William and Stella Bunch in Goshen, Ark. She came to Odessa in 1964. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God for 35 years. She loved to crochet. Services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2001, at Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God with Rev. Scott Sprouse, assisted by Rev. Paul Clark. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Both her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by three brothers, Amos Perry Bunch of Odessa, Kenneth Charles Bunch of Odessa and Ronald Keith Bunch of Odessa; two sisters, Leola Mae Biddy of Odessa and Mary Kathleen Smith of Odessa; many nieces, nephews, and others who considered her as close as a mother. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2001, at Martinez Funeral Home with Hermano Hugo Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Martinez Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his father, Atanacio Anchondo, and mother, Teresa Acosta. He is survived by his wife, Maria De Jesus Anchondo of Odessa; a son, Roberto Anchondo Jr. or Vernal, Utah; four daughters, Ana Elida Molina of Odessa, Josefina Enriquez of Chihuahua, Mexico, Hilda Hernandez of Silver City, N.M., and Eva Hernandez of Las Cruces, N.M.; a brother, Manuel Anchondo of Chihuahua; four sisters, Concepcion Anchondo, Estafani Anchondo, Ramona Anchondo and Theresa Anchondo, all of Chihuahua; 25 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Rosary will be at 7:30 Friday at Martinez Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bernard, and son, Jesse Bernard. She is survived by two sons, John Bernard Jr. and wife Lilli and Robert Bernard and wife Eva, all of Odessa; a daughter, Victoria Navarrette of Odessa; a sister, Mary Galindo of Odessa; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.
