July 14, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Mary Justeen Loika ODESSA On Thursday, July 12, 2001, with family and friends at her side, Mary Justeen Loika went home to be with the Lord after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Justeen was a loving wife, daughter, sister and friend. Those who were blessed to know her, knew her as thoughtful, caring and always encouraging. Now those loved ones again are encouraged knowing Justeen is resting in peace and comfort in the arms of our Savior. God has received a most precious soul. The Lord saw that she was getting tired. A cure on Earth was not to be, so he put his arms around her and whispered, Justeen, come here with me. With tearful eyes we saw her go, and softly fade away, and though we loved her dearly, all we could do was pray. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best. Justeen was born April 10, 1948, in San Angelo to Maxwell N. Robinson and Mary Kathrine Hadley. On July 5, 1968, she became the wife of James Jim Loika in Grape Creek. Justeen moved to Odessa in November 1969, where her husband was stationed as a Texas state trooper. Odessa remained their home for over 30 years, 10 of which she was employed by H&R Block, four as office manager. Justeens death was preceded by her father, Max Robinson Sr., and her nephew, Coy Robinson. Justeen is survived by her husband, Jim Loika; mother, Mary Kathrine Hadley; brothers, Max, Ray, Charles and many nephews and nieces. Pallbearers include Jeff Robinson, Aaron Loika, Dennis Riley, Jim Crawford, Lynn Dudney, Skip Hunt and honorary, O.A. Bob Brookshire. Services will be at 4 p.m. today, July 14, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to Home Hospice and Emily Theilepape, registered nurse. Those desiring to do so may send donations to the American Cancer Society and/or MD Anderson Cancer Center. _________________________________________________________________ W.N.
