July 22, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Jose Angel Ruiz ODESSA Jose Angel Ruiz, 75, of Odessa died July 21, 2001, in Odessa. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Josephs Catholic Church with the Rev. Fidelo Lugo officiating. Burial will follow at the Ector County Cemetery with military honors. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Martinez Funeral Home. Public visitation will be allowed from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. He was born May 31, 1926, in Fort Stockton. He was an army veteran of World War II. He was honorably discharged as a Private First Class. He enjoyed gardening and tennis. Mr. Ruiz was preceded in death by his father, Isabel B. Ruiz; his mother, Paula Aguilar; and his wife, Julia Armendariz Ruiz. He is survived by his son, Armando Ruiz of Odessa; his daughters, Hilda A. Ruiz, Angela Sanchez and Adelina Rodriguez, all of Odessa and Erlinda R. Barnes of Dayton, Tenn.; his brothers, Jose A. Ruiz of Anaheim, Calif., Chris Ruiz of Escondido, Calif. and Manuel Ruiz of Fort Mojave, Ariz.; his sisters, Anita Vigil of Lakewood, Calif. and Concha Montez of Hawaiian Garden, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. _________________________________________________________________ Charles Louis Clover DALLAS Charles Louis Clover, 68, of Dallas died recently in a Fort Worth hospital where he was being treated for cancer. He was born Sept. 5, 1932, in Big Spring, to Anita and Carlos Cotton Clover. He was educated in the Odessa school system, graduating from Odessa High School in 1950. During his high school years he quarterbacked two Broncho teams deep into the playoffs. For many years he was in the oil production business as well as the insurance industry. In later years he became successful as a writer and publisher of music, and was writing a book at the time of his death. His father, Cotton Clover predeceased him. His mother, Anita, and a sister, Pat Gobble, both of Denton, survive him. Other survivors include four children: Kelly of Longview, Kim of Dallas, Lisa of San Francisco, and Richard of Wichita, Kansas. Two nieces and one nephew also survive.
