August 08, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Ann Louise Crichton ODESSA Ann Louise Crichton, 79, of Odessa passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born May 17, 1922, in Omaha, Neb. She married David Crichton on Aug. 28, 1943, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He preceded her in death Aug. 22, 1988. Mrs. Crichton was a resident of Odessa since the late 1940s. She worked for Continental Oil Co. as a land draftsman for more than 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with her many friends. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Services were held Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Lois Moses KERRVILLE Memorial services for Mrs. Lois Moses, age 95, of Kerrville, who died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at a local care center, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, in the chapel of Overby Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Hornung officiating. Burial will be held at Rosalie Cemetery in Bogata at a later date. Mrs. Moses was born Aug. 30, 1905, in Rosalie to Virgil and Mary Myrtle Tyer. She had been a resident of Kerrville since 1994 and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Jean Tims, and a grandson, Dean Tims. She is survived by a son, Ed Moses and his wife Beverly of Kerrville; sister, Ruth Rodgers of Kerrville; brother, Jack Tyer of Ralls; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Overby Funeral Home of Kerrville is in charge of arrangements. _________________________________________________________________ James Red Seale ODESSA James Red Seale, 73, of Odessa passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, at his home. He was born Jan. 8, 1928, in Cass County to James and Susie Seale. Red served for two months in the Army during 1946. He worked as a mechanic for the past 30 years. He moved to Odessa in 1953 from Adrian, just outside of Amarillo. In 1976, he married Helen Wilson in Odessa. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by both his mother and father. Red is survived by his wife, Helen Seale of Odessa; son, Brian Seale of Odessa; stepsons, Harold Wilson, Don Horrell, John Horrell Jr., Terry Horrell, Ben Horrell and Tom Horrell, all of Odessa; daughters, Nettie Stewart of Laurel, Miss., Verta Sparks of Mentone and Mary Gaffey of Odessa; stepdaughter, Alice Grenier of Odessa; sister, Marjorie Eggleston of Nash and Pearl Carlisle of Arkansas; 39 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Greenfield Acres Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Emma Sutton ODESSA Emma Sutton, 88, of Odessa passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Hospice House. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1000 W. Clements St., with the Rev. R.S. Sutton officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. She was born Aug. 29, 1912, in Carthage and resided in Odessa for 56 years. She married Velvet Beck Sr. in 1933. She was a retired housekeeper and church mother of Bethlehem Baptist Church and member of the Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lottie Hooker and Allen Sutton; sisters, Ruby Sutton, Shirley Mae Robinson and Robbie Lee Sutton; brother, Allen Sutton Jr.; and son, Bernell Beck. She is survived by her sons, Velvet Beck Jr. and Billy Beck Sr., both of Odessa; daughter, Florene Jones of Odessa; brother, the Rev. Roscoe Sutton of Odessa; sisters, Mildred Burts, Lucille Beck and Hazel Servance, all of Odessa; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. Big Ed Solley, age 65, of Odessa died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at his home. He was born in Gorman to John and Ella Sparks Solley. Mr. Solley was raised in De Leon and moved to Odessa at age 12. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1954. He joined the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1977 when he returned to Odessa. He married Pat Dominguez in 1999. He owned and operated Raney Safe and Lock Co. for 24 years. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Mr. Solley was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Lynn Solley in 1990. Mr. Solley is survived by his wife, Pat Solley of Odessa; son, Keith Solley of Odessa and Larry Solley of Granbury; stepsons, Luis Dominguez of Lake Jackson, Jeff Dominguez of San Antonio and Jeremy Dominguez of San Antonio; stepdaughter, Jadona Proffitt of Odessa; twin sister, Ginger Benton of Norfolk, Va.; brother, Lee Roy Solley of Stephenville; and numerous grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 8, 2001, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with Dr. Griffin Jones officiating. Cremation has taken place.
