August 16, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Victor Manuel Alvarez ODESSA Victor Manuel Alvarez, 45, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born March 9, 1956, to Felix and Jovita Alvarez in McAllen. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today, Aug. 16, 2001, at the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. He was raised in California and graduated from Livingston High School in California in 1974. He attended college in Bakersfield, Calif. He married Olivia Cardenas in 1976. They moved to Odessa in 1982. He worked in the family business, Felixs Mexican Food Restaurant, where he became the owner. He was a Catholic by faith. He helped with the Boys Club Boxing Team for many years. She was born Aug. 30, 1928, in Borger. Frankie moved to Odessa in 1971 from Pampa. She and her husband owned and operated Bens AAA Rooter and Vacuum Service until 1994. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Blackmon, and a son, Davey Blackmon. She is survived by daughters, Phyllis Blackmon and husband Alan of Grapevine and Toni Cummins and husband Kirk of Odessa; daughter-in-law, Mollie Blackmon of Palestine; brother, C.L. Wallace and wife Eva of Palestine; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Esther Lambert MONAHANS Esther Lee Warnick, 82, was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Madill, Okla., to Lee and Carrie Armstrong Warnick. She went home to be with the Lord Aug. 13, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Victor Kenneth Lambert. She is survived by her brother, S.E. Warnick of Kermit; sons, Victor Kenneth Lambert of Plano and Michael Gene Lambert of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren, USAF Major Steve Lambert of Holland, Lisa Fowler of Auburn, Calif., Cheryl Shepard of Van Buren, Ark., Laura Carpenter of Mabank, Israel Lambert and Judah Lambert of Fort Worth and USMC Pvt. Michael Lambert of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; and six great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the body of Christ and will be remembered for her giving heart and many acts of kindness, an accomplished artist, a skilled seamstress and homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at Harkey Funeral Home, 210 S. Allen, and interment afterwards at the Monahans Cemetery. Hadden died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at Midland Memorial Hospital and Medical Center. A visitation has been set from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 16, 2001, at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Hopkins officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. Bill J. Hadden was born June 18, 1931, in Duchesne, Utah, to William J. and Janie Hadden. He served in the United States Armed Forces as a paratrooper instructor in the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Benning, Ga. After his discharge from the Armed Forces, Bill worked for Mountain Bell Telephone in Wyoming and later for Southwestern Bell in Arizona. An avid horseman, Bill owned and operated Buckskin Bos Livery Stables in Glen Haven, Colo. After obtaining his masters electricians license, he became an electrical contractor, owning Big T Electric in Estes Park, Colo. In January 1975, he went to work for Parker Drilling Co. in the Rocky Mountain and Alaskan Divisions before transferring to ParTec in 1992. Bill traveled the world over designing electrical systems for SCR drilling rigs. After his retirement in 1996, he became an electrical consultant for Parker Drilling and ParTec once again, traveling to foreign countries until failing health ended his travels in 1999. Bill, or Mr. Bill, as he was called by all who knew him, was highly respected in the drilling industry the world over. He leaves behind a wide circle of friends, not only because of his work, but also because of the sport that he loved. Mr. Bill had been an avid bowler for years, bowling in leagues and tournaments across the U.S. He was loved and will be missed by many! With cherished memories, he is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Hadden of Midland; his daughter, Kristie Jo Hadden of Bentonville, Ark.; his sons, Wm. Scott Hedges and Brenda of Mesa, Ariz., Robert E. Hedges and his wife Debby of Boulder City, Nev., and Thomas A. Hedges and his wife Katya of Anchorage, Alaska; his five grandchildren, Ian, Tia, Seth, Emily and Juan; his sister, Marie Lugenbeel of Duchesne, Utah; his brothers, Rex Hadden and his wife Jennie of St. George, Utah, and Bernard Hadden and his wife Norma of Duchesne, Utah; many nieces and nephews; and his little canine companion, Cricket. He was born Oct. 6, 1952, in Gonzales. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an esteemed truck driver and an active member of Iglesia Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a daughter. He is survived by his wife, Maria Elva Trevino of Odessa; sons, Jesus Camargo of San Diego, Calif., Pete Trevino III, Joe Luis Trevino and Alejandro Trevino, all of Odessa; daughters, Gabriela Camargo of Chihuahua, Mexico, and Jasmine Thomas of Norfolk, Va.; brothers, Luis Puente of Odessa, Saragosa Puente of Beaumont, Pablo Trevino and Adam Trevino, both of San Antonio, Daniel Trevino of Stockdale and David Trevino of Laredo; sisters, Alecia Puente of Lubbock, Maria Morales of Odessa, Estella Saldania of San Antonio and Elida Trevino of Avondale, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Andrew Thomas, Nyah Biljana Trevino, Carlos Camargo, Diana Camargo and Jasmine Camargo and friend Juan Hinojos Jr.; and many friends and relatives. He was born Oct. 22, 1939, to Charles and Ruth Zetty Langford in Tyler. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord. He was raised in East Texas and graduated from high school in Fort Worth. He joined the United States Air Force after high school. Then he moved to Abilene and attended McMurray. He met Isabel Ramos in Alpine and they were married Jan. 9, 1965. He was a salesman for insurance and Polk and Legal Directories. He achieved many awards for his salesmanship. No matter where he traveled, he always worshiped at the local church. He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord. He is survived by his wife, Isabel of Odessa; a sister, Gwen Allison of Lamesa; and mother-in-law, Elena Ramos of Odessa.
