September 19, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries Obituaries Index Robert William 'Bobby' Lance ODESSA - Robert William "Bobby" Lance, 51, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at Hospice House of Odessa. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at Ector County Cemetery Rose Hill Gardens with Chaplain Emmett Barnard officiating. Masonic rites will follow. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. He was born Oct. 2, 1949, in Odessa and was a lifelong resident. He was a self-employed welder. He was a member of the Masonic Order. He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Lance, and mother, Margaret Carpenter Lance. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Lance of Odessa; sons, Sammuel Johnathan Lance (Jennifer) and Robert William Lance II (Tresa), both of Odessa; sister, Cheryl Cummins of Odessa; and two grandchildren. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Hospice House. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home. Myrtle Markham McClure MIDLAND - Memorial services are to be for Myrtle M. McClure at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Midland with the Rev. Glenda Harbert officiating. Ellis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. McClure died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, following a lengthy illness. She was born June 1, 1905, in Camden, Tenn., to James and Rhonda Markham. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, six brothers, her husband, J.H. McClure (a lease broker and right-of-way agent), and two grandchildren, Greg Baker and Kelsey Logan. Mrs. McClure's first husband died at the age of 28. From this union were born two children, Charles E. Patteson and Jane Patteson Baker. Myrtle and "Mac" were married four years later and had two sons, J.H. McClure Jr. and Phillip Blair McClure. Myrtle is survived by her children and their spouses, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and nephew, J.T. Thompson of Camden, Tenn. Myrtle was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, held offices there and benefited greatly from a long and loving fellowship with its wonderful people. Myrtle was, and her family is, forever grateful for the amazing care and love shown by all her friends, Hospice of Midland personnel and caregivers of Trinity Haven Nursing Home. God bless you all.
