Matt. 19:14 (NIV) Jason Alexander Salazar, born Aug. 24, 1992, was called to heaven on Friday, Oct. 26, 2001. This precious child brought so much joy to everyone with his constant smile and happy disposition even through his long bout with cancer. He will continue to be a precious memory in the hearts of all who knew this delightful child. Alex was a student at Zavala Magnet Elementary. His classmates gave him a "Hurry Back, Alex" party with ice cream, cake and gifts before he left for Lubbock. These great friends include Alicia, Analy, Billie, Daniel, Desiree, Jesus, Johnny, Miguel, Steven, Mrs. Jolly and Mrs. Gonzalez. Alex was dear to everyone at Zavala and will be missed terribly. Alex's family will receive visitors at 2210 N. Washington. Services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Alex is survived by his devoted and loving grandparents Jose and Josefina Salazar, his mother, Elizabeth, and his puppy, Clifford. Alex was blessed with aunts and uncles that include Reynaldo and Gloria, Ruben, Johnny, Robert, Mario and Tracie, Jimmy, Osvaldo, Eluteria, Hector and Olga, and Angelica. He also had numerous cousins whom he loved dearly. "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it." Hebrews 13:2 (NIV) Enrique Sabedra Enrique Sabedra, 62, of Odessa, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Pablo Tiong officiating. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 13, 1939 in New Braunfels to Panfilo and Theofila Sabedra. He was a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his parents, Panfilo and Theofila Sabedra. Pallbearers will be son-in-law, Vincent MEndez, brothers, Victor Sabedra, brothers-in-law, Victor Fernandez and Cirilo Fernandez, and nephews, Steven Aguero and Robert Long. Survivors are wife, Rosalinda Fernandez Sabedra, of Odessa; son, Enrique Sabedra Jr., of Odessa; daughters, Hilda Sabedra, of Big Spring, Guadalupe Sabedra and Margarita Sabedra, both of Odessa; sister, Rosa Torres of Edinburg; brothers, Victor Sabedra of Edinburg and Jose Sabedra of Chino Hill, Calif.; and four grandchildren. Ramiro Salinas Ramiro Salinas, 47, of Odessa, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 at Medical Center Hospital. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 19, 1954 in Agualeguas, Nuevo Leon in Mexico. He was a Catholic. He is survived by wife, Elizabeth Salinas, of Odessa; mother, Herlinda Salinas, of Dallas; sons, David Jacob Salinas and Ramiro Salinas II, both of Odessa; brother, Jose Salinas III, of Dallas; sisters, Rebecca Garza, Santos Chapa, Claudia Molinar, all of Dallas, and Rosaura Renteria of Odessa. Mildred L. Lee Mildred L. Lee, 70, of Odessa passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. Ms. Lee moved to Odessa in 1952 from her birthplace of Port LaVaca, Texas. She was a former bookkeeper with First National Bank of Odessa and was a Baptist. Mildred Lee was married to Lloyd Drummond, June 23, 1947. Mr. Drummond passed away in 1976. Also preceding Mildred in death was a daughter, Annette Drummond in 1987. She is survived by daughters, Marcia Copland and husband, Elvis of Odessa, Donna Marie Bell and husband, Steve, of Odessa, Sharon Buenger and husband, Forrest, of Odessa; one son, Robert E. Drummond of Odessa; one sister, Juanita Pyburn and husband, George of Odessa; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, and a loving companion, Cecil Cox. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Watkins of Temple Baptist officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Jason Hanks Graveside services for Jason Hanks, 31, of Odessa will be held Monday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Jason was born in Carlsbad, N.M. and was a graduate of Permian High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. Jason was baptized at First Baptist Church by Bro. Paul Miller and also united he and his wife in matrimony. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Hanks; son, Jason Hanks Jr.; daughter, Linda Maria Hanks; mother, Linda Archer; father, Jim Archer; brother, Darrell Lynn Hanks Jr.; sister Ila Dawn Sims; grandparents, Buster and Ila Hanks of Hobbs, N.M. New Mexico services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
