October 31, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries Obituaries Index Blanche C. Graham ODESSA - Blanche C. Graham, 88, of Odessa passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 30, 2001, at her residence. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Burt Groves officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Blanche C. Graham was born April 1, 1913, in Dunn to C.P. and Julia Chandler. She was the youngest and last surviving of 13 children. She came to Odessa in 1947 from Fort Worth. She married Howard "Bill" Graham on Oct. 4, 1932, in Snyder. He preceded her in death April 27, 1980. She was a member of the Eisenhower Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and loved her family. Survivors include her daughter, Billie Brown and husband Eddie of Odessa; a sister-in-law, Verna Graham of Ranger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. John R. Gray ARTESIA, N.M. - John R. Gray, 71, of Artesia, N.M., died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, N.M. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST today, Oct. 31, 2001, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Elliott officiating. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.T. Jackson, George Young, John Bedingfield, Dave Barrett, Theodore Briggs, Bow Donaghe, Raymond Pearson and C.E. LaRue. Memorials may be made to Assurance Home Inc., 1000 E. 18th, Roswell, N.M., 88201, or to the charity of your choice. He was born Feb. 1, 1930, in Levelland to George Ralph Gray and Effie Lee Warren Gray. He married Bobbie Dawn Till on Jan. 6, 1951, in Clovis, N.M. He later married Carolyn Gibson Feb. 27, 1987, in Artesia. He moved to Artesia in 1943 from Barstow. He was the president of Marbob Energy Corp. He was a member of Clark Memorial United Methodist Church and was an active member of and held various offices in numerous oil- and gas-related organizations and civic organizations. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gray of the family home; a son, Johnny Gray and wife Terry of Carlsbad, N.M.; four daughters, Terry Chandler and husband Doug of Carlsbad, Kyla Williams and husband Bobby of Artesia, Stacy Purcella of Dallas and Shannon Orris of Lubbock; a brother, George Gray and wife Dorothy of El Paso; two sisters, Mrs. Jerome France of Roswell and Eva Sue Green and husband Virgil of Artesia; six grandchildren, Brandon Chandler of Carlsbad, Shane Gray of Artesia, Jonathan Gray of Carlsbad, Dustin Smith of Albuquerque, N.M., Skyler Morales and Austyn Morales, both of Lubbock; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Terpening and Son Mortuary Inc. in Artesia. Norval Leroy Jackson ODESSA - Norval Leroy Jackson, 86, of Odessa passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at his residence. He was born Dec. 25, 1914, to George and Grace Belle Jackson in Cleveland, Okla. He married Ann E. Risinger on July 3, 1935, in Cleveland, Okla. She preceded him in death July 29, 1993. Mr. Jackson was a mud engineer. He retired from Permian Mud Service with over 20 years of service. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was also a member of the Hebron Masonic Lodge No. 215 in Cleveland, Okla. Survivors are sons, Gary Jackson of Fort Worth and Larry Jackson of Odessa; daughter, Peggy McDaniel of San Angelo; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and all his special friends and neighbors. Public visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at the Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, Okla., with Charles Hagburg and Dick Risinger officiating.
