All rights reserved ============================================================================================ November 07, 2001 Permian Basin Obituaries Obituaries Index Ronny Armstrong ODESSA - Ronny Armstrong, 47, of Odessa passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at his residence. He was born to Joe and Beulah Armstrong on Feb. 26, 1954, in Odessa. Ronny grew up in Odessa. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1972. He served in the Marine Corps from 1974 to 1979. He worked for Red's Casing Crew. For the past year he was employed by Pizza Hut on Andrews Highway. His father, Joe Armstrong, and brother, Derrel Wayne Armstrong, preceded Ronny in death. Survivors include his sons, Joe Slaton Armstrong and wife Miracle of Odessa and Eric Nathaniel Armstrong and wife Kristy of Odessa; daughter, Alicia Dawn Armstrong of Odessa; mother, Beulah Gentles and husband Lawrence of Odessa; grandmother, Ruby Norwood of Odessa; and four grandchildren, Kristin Sue Chandler, Jamie Nathaniel Armstrong, Marilyn Dawn Armstrong and Zachary Lee Armstrong. Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Terry Pugh officiating. Services entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Rita Ann O'Reilly ODESSA - Rita Ann O'Reilly, age 72, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at her residence. She was born March 4, 1929, in Chicago, Ill., to Adolph and Catherine Blake. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today, Nov. 7, 2001, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Francis Frey officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. She married Thomas B. O'Reilly on May 8, 1948. They moved to Odessa from Chicago in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1996. She touched several lives as a daycare provider for many Odessans. She will always be remembered as a caregiver who would always go the extra mile. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She had been Mother of the Year, a member of the Prairie Dance Club, American Legion and Eagles Lodge. She loved bowling, needlework and bingo, and she was very involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. She is survived by her sons, David T. O'Reilly and wife Cathy, Tom J. O'Reilly and wife Karen and Tim J. O'Reilly and wife Missy, all of Odessa; daughter, Shannon Simpson of Odessa; sister, Audrey Hawthorne of Clearwater, Fla.; and grandchildren, Shea, Callye, Dylan O'Reilly, Cody, Stace, Katie Shannon, Kinsey O'Reilly, Justin, Shelby and Shane Simpson, all of Odessa.
