Grant ODESSA - Eunice L. Grant, 77, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at Hospice House in Odessa. She was born April 8, 1924, in Ranger to Jack and Hettie Vroman. She married Donald Grant on Sept. 19, 1943, in Amarillo. She managed the Western Union during World War II and worked as Sears Control Clerk for a few years. She worked for Foremost Dairy for 10 years, before retiring with Champion Chemical in 1985. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Her husband, Donald Leather "Red" Grant, preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Don Grant of Odessa; daughters, Neita J. Grant of San Angelo and Nancy J. Hubbard of Odessa; a sister, Norma Ruth Forbes of Fort Worth; four grandchildren, Gene Grant, Lynan Travis, Sammy Don Hubbard and John Lewis Hubbard; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Grant's services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Her family has requested memorials be directed to Hospice House or Home Hospice in Odessa. Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Sam Bob Tate ODESSA - Sam Bob Tate, 77, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Pine Bluff, Ark. He married Evelyn Myer on March 22, 1952, in Houston. Mr. Tate retired from the oilfield. He was a 50-year member of the Alamo 44 Masonic Lodge in San Antonio. He was also a member of the Chapter and Council Sam J. Helm No. 445 and past president of Odessa Shrine Club and Philanthropy chairman from 1991 to 2000. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Tate of Odessa; son, Thomas N. Tate of Odessa; daughters, Sammye Gail Burnett of Houston and Patricia Ann Tate of Boulder, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Brian and Lauren. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with the Rev. Preston Weatherly officiating. The family will receive guests at the residence after the service. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Theresa Ann Hill Witt ODESSA - Theresa Ann Hill Witt, 31, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born Dec. 23, 1969, in Odessa. Theresa graduated from Permian High School in 1988 and attended Odessa College. She had worked for Southwest Heritage Credit Union for 12 years. She is survived by her son, Caleb Ryan Witt of Odessa; mother, Marsha Ward and husband Dan of Odessa; father, Lonnie Hill and wife Fran of Odessa; brother, Sammie Hill of Montrose, Calif.; grandparents, Pete and Mary Forness of Odessa and Irene Hill of Oklahoma; and numerous aunts and uncles. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dean Kelm officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the fund for Caleb Witt at Southwest Heritage Credit Union or the American Cancer Society. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
