Price Hernandez
MONAHANS - Price Hernandez, 63, of Monahans, a wireline specialist, died 
Thursday, April 4, 2002, at his residence.
Mass will be celebrated at noon Monday at St. John's Catholic Church with the 
Rev. John Lucido officiating. Rosary was said Saturday at 8 p.m. and will be 
said today at 8 p.m. at the Harkey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 
Monahans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
He was born in Artesia, N.M., and spent his life in Monahans. He was a Marine 
veteran. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Gloria Hernandez of Monahans; sons, Benny Hernandez of Barstow, 
Floyd Hernandez of Anchorage, Alaska and Steve Hernandez of Austin; daughter, 
Olivia Swanson of Corpus Christi; brothers, Ramon Franco of Monahans, Bobby 
Almanza of Monahans and Christopher Ortega of San Diego; sisters, Mary Garcia of 
Monahans, Virginia Lathim of Beauerton, Ore., Connie Karolozuk of Windsorlocks, 
Conn., Stella Romero of Artesia, and Naomi Abila of Odessa; and eight 
grandchildren.

William Lepard
ANDREWS - William Richard 'Dickie' Lepard, 49, of Andrews, principal of 
Clearfork Elementary, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. 
Mike O'Neill of Northridge Baptist Church in San Angelo and H.A. Hanks 
officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Memorial Park Cemetery 
in Big Spring. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.
He was born in Big Spring. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Karla Lepard of Andrews; son, Bryan Lepard of Weatherford; 
daughter, Amy Lepard of Lewisville; parents, Waymon and Betty Lepard of Andrews; 
brothers, Lawrence Lepard of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Ron Lepard of Big Spring; 
and one grandchild.

Anita Leyva
FORT STOCKTON - Anita "Nena" S. Leyva, 61, of Fort Stockton, a homemaker, died 
Friday, April 5, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. 
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the 
Rev. David Herrera officiating. Burial will follow at the Fort Stockton Catholic 
Cemetery. Rosary will be said Monday at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. 
Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Sanderson.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Jose H. Leyva; sons, Julian Leyva and George Leyva of Fort 
Stockton; daughter, Angie Quiroz of Fort Stockton; brothers, Santana Sarabia, 
Acension "Chon" Sarabia and Arturo "Chavel" Sarabia of Fort Stockton; sister, 
Angelita S. Diaz of Fort Stockton; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-
grandchildren.

Barbara M. Ortega
BALMORHEA - Barbara M. Ortega, 80, of Balmorhea, a homemaker, died Friday, April 
5, 2002, in Carlsbad, N.M.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church 
with the Rev. Miguel Angel Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at Balmorhea 
Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at the Pecos Funeral Home 
Chapel. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
She was born in Marfa. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Salvador Ortega Jr. of Carlsbad; daughters, Lydia Payan of 
Odessa, Carolina Brijalba of Marfa and Maria Louisa Riley of Carlsbad; brother, 
Ruberto Millan of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Socurro Rodriguez and Yvonne Martin, 
both of Pecos, Cinderlla Garcia of Balmorhea, and Diane Gonzales of Tucson; 13 
grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

ODESSA - Emilio Acosta, 47, died Saturday, April 6, 2002 at Medical Center 
Hospital.

ODESSA-Peter Forness, 81, died Saturday, April 6, 2002 at Parks Methodist 
Church.
