Dorothy Brents
CRANE - Dorothy LaRue Brents, 44, of Crane, a licensed vocational nurse, died 
Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at her residence.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crane County Cemetery. 
Arrangements 
by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
She was born in Odessa and was a resident of Crane for 10 years.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Tex Brents of Crane; sons, Albert Chavvaria of Anchorage, 
Alk., 
Felix Chavvaria of Waco, David Chavvaria and Ray Chavvaria, both of Big Spring; 
stepdaughter, Misty Fay Gonzales of Denver City; stepson, Scott Brents of Denver 
City; sisters, Teresa Hester of Kansas City, Kan., and Debra Jean Williams of 
North 
Carolina; brothers, Brian Scott Williams of Kansas City and Allen Williams of 
Phoenix; and five grandchildren.

Troy Brooks
ODESSA - Troy S. Brooks, 79, of Odessa, a retired farmer, died Thursday, July 4, 
2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral 
Directors with the Revs. Bill Counts and Aaron Lee officiating. Burial will be 
at 4 
p.m. Monday at the Hart Cemetery in Hart. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson 
Funeral 
Directors.
He was born in Brady and moved to Odessa in 1965.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Frances Brooks of Odessa; daughters, Oleta Bishop and Patricia 
Gentry, both of Odessa, Kathy Cathcart of Spring and Karen Willard of Coahoma; 
21 
grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

Flora Bryan
SEMINOLE - Flora Bryan, 84, of Seminole, a homemaker, died Wednesday, July 3, 
2002, 
at Memorial Hospital in Seminole.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. 
Gayle Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Gaines County Cemetery 
South. 
Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.
She was born in Brownwood and moved to Seminole in 1946 from Kermit. She was 
Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Son, Barry Bryan of Spring; daughter, Barbara Bryan of Atlanta; 
brothers, 
H.P. "Buddy" Lackey of Grand Junction and Stan Lackey of Denver; sisters, 
Dorothy 
Dalrymple of Grand Junction and Billie Jane Blackburn of Abilene; eight 
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

L.V. Carroll
ODESSA - L.V. Carroll, 85, of Odessa, a retired laborer for Plains Machinery 
Co., 
died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. R.T. 
McNeil officiating. Burial will be at Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements by 
Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Marlin and was a resident of Odessa for 47 years.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Doriner Carroll of Odessa; son, Alfred Carroll of Denver; 
daughter, 
Tanna Carroll of Odessa; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven 
great-great-grandchildren.

Claribel Fuller
BARSTOW - Claribel Fuller, 87, of Barstow, a retired teacher, died Friday, July 
5, 
2002, at Crestwood Assisted Living in Willis Point.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Barstow Cemetery with Ken 
Calhoun 
officiating. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
She was born in Hearne.
SURVIVORS: Son, Clint Ford Fuller of Barstow; daughter, Susan Crow of Willis 
Point; 
brother, Ralph Ford of Houston; sister, Thelma Hamm of Waco; and two 
grandchildren.

Bennie Steelman
ODESSA - Bennie D. Steelman, 75, of Odessa, a retired employee of the city of 
Odessa, passed away Friday, July 5, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the 
Rev. Terry Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. 
Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Prichett. He was a Navy veteran.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Alma Steelman of Odessa; son, Charles Steelman of Garland; 
daughter, T.J. "Terry" Palmer of Odessa; sister, Bonnie Smith of Gladewater; 
four 
grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

David White
ODESSA - David White, 58, of Odessa died Friday, July 5, 2002, at his residence.
Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
