Jo Nell Abshire
MIDLAND - Jo Nell Abshire, 52, of Midland, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, in a 
Midland nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park in 
Midland with the Rev. Clark Racca officiating. Arrangements by Nalley-Pickle & 
Welch Funeral Home.
She was born in Amarillo. She was a member of the Christian Church.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Lee Edward of Longview and Jeff Patke of Midland; parents, 
Henry Patke and Joleen Patke of Midland; and brother, Sam Johnson of Richardson.

Eduvijes Arenivas
CRANE - Eduvijes "Vicky" Arenivas, 50, of Denver City, and formerly of Crane, a 
homemaker, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home. Graveside 
services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Crane County Cemetery with the Rev. Barry 
McLean officiating. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
She was born in Mexico. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Mother, Maria Hernandez Arenivas of Denver City; sons, Jesus "Jesse" 
Rodriguez of Odessa and Jose Rodriguez of Crane; daughters, Leticia "Letty" 
Rodriguez of Lovington, Texas, Anjenette "Angie" Rodriguez of Crane, Manuela 
"Pauline" Holguin of Denver City and Rosalinda Rodriguez of Leggett; sisters, 
Rosa Gutierrez of Denver City and Connie Belez of Enoch; brothers, Eddie Molina 
of Midland, Faustino Hernandez and David Arenivas, both of Denver City, and 
Rafael Arenivas of Mexico; and 15 grandchildren.

Eva Hamilton
MIDLAND - Grace Eva Hamilton, 72, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at a Midland 
hospital.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Coahoma Cemetery with Rick Denson 
officiating. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Pecos and moved to Midland in the late 1970s. She was a member 
of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Kenneth G. Hamilton Sr. of Midland; daughter, Gail Phillips 
of Austin; and sons, Steven Ross of Bruceville, Danny Ross of Austin and Kenneth 
G. Hamilton Jr. of Midland; brother, Garland Daylong of Austin; sisters, Georgia 
Handy of Canyon Lake, Bertha Daylong of Summerville and Joyce Daylong of 
Midland; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Eddie Hunt
MIDLAND - Eddie H.T. Hunt, 85, of Midland, a gardener, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 
2002, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Midland. 
Burial will be at Rest Haven North Cemetery.
He was born in Coolidge.
SURVIVORS: Son, J.T. Hunt of Odessa; daughters, Tanya L. Gentry, Rita D. Young, 
Ida M. Dorn and Lillie A. Hill, all of Odessa, Eddie M. Young of Carrolton, 
DeHelen Simpson and Lorine Dennis, both of Los Angeles, Calif., and Lola 
Williams of Odessa; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
James Phillips
MARBLE FALLS - James Paul Phillips, 77, of Highland, construction and cabinet 
builder, died Monday, Aug. 12, in Temple.
Services were at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel. Burial 
was at Marble Falls City Cemetery. Arrangements by Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home 
of Marble Falls.
He was born in O'Donnell and was a former Odessa resident of 37 years.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Jo Phillips of Highland; daughters, Pam Bell of Fort Worth and 
Debbie Krieg of San Antonio; son, James Phillips of Marble Falls; sisters, 
Martelle Phillips of Dallas and Jane Simmons of Natalia; brother , Deverle 
Phillips of Dallas; and four grandchildren.
