Arthur Lane Jr.
CRANE - Arthur "A.J." Lane Jr., 49, of Crane, a retired mechanic, died 
Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Hospice House.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Crane with 
the Rev. H.A. Bowens officiating. Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
at Memorial Services in Odessa. Arrangements by Memorial Services.
He was born in Crane. 
SURVIVORS: Wife, Annette Lane of Crane; son, Michael John Lopez of Odessa; 
daughter, Anissa Lane of Crane; brother, Arthur "Jack" Lane of Crane; sisters, 
Elmiria Foreman of Big Spring and Johnie Mae Jones of Crane; and two 
grandchildren.

Shirley Simpson
GIDDINGS - Shirley Ruth Simpson, 67, of Giddings, a registered nurse, died 
Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Seton Medical Center in Austin.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Giddings with the 
Rev. Tim Clayton officiating. Visitation will be at 8 a.m. Saturday at Phillips 
and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. Burial will be at Giddings Memorial Park. 
Arrangements by Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home.
She was born in Taylor County.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Vernon Simpson of Giddings; son, Michael Simpson of 
Giddings; sisters, Nell Berry of Monahans and Nancy Crider of Crane; brothers, 
James F. Parker of Alvord and Billy Tom Parker of Boyd and two grandsons.
