 Sylvia Myers
SEMINOLE - Sylvia Jean Upton Myers, 43, of Midland, a purchasing agent, died 
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. 
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Seminole with 
the Rev. Gayle Perkins officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County Cemetery 
South. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.
She was born in Lamesa and had been a resident of Lubbock and Seminole before 
moving to Midland. She was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Dr. Lynn Myers of Midland; parents, Wayne Upton and Jean 
Upton of Seminole; brothers, Allison Upton of Tomball, Anderson Upton and 
Gregory Upton, both of Seminole; grandmother, Lena Upton of Seminole; and 
grandfather, Jay Noble of Denver City.

Jose Salgado
MONAHANS - Jose Gomez Salgado, 45, of Monahans, a laborer, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 
2002, at Hospice House in Odessa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sendero de La Cruz Church with the Rev. 
Rey Salgado Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial Cemetery. 
Arrangements by Family Funeral Services of Monahans.
He was born in Monahans and was a lifelong resident.
SURVIVORS: Father, Reynaldo Salgado of Monahans; brothers, Reynaldo Salgado and 
Johnny Salgado, both of Monahans, Jessie Salgado and Danny Salgado, both of 
Lubbock; and sisters, Hortencia Sanders and Dominga Willy, both of Monahans.

Maurine Grimes
ANDREWS - Maurine Grimes, 91, of Andrews, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, in 
Andrews.
Services are pending with McNett Funeral Home.

Earl Tipton
ODESSA - Earl Tipton, 51, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at University 
Medical Center Hospital in Lubbock.
