All rights reserved ============================================================================================ Friday February 01, 2002 Lily Lois Arnett ODESSA - Lily Lois Arnett, 89, of Houston passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, in Houston. Mrs. Arnett was born Nov. 17, 1912, in Cleburne. She married J.H. "Pete" Arnett on Dec. 5, 1931, in Longview. They moved to Odessa in 1952. Lois had been noted for her arts and crafts talents in crocheting, sewing and quilting as well as her gardening abilities, which earned her several yard of the month awards. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995. She is survived by her son, Ray Arnett and his wife Betty of Houston; and three grandchildren, Sandy Polson of Sugar Land, Sharon Arnett and Michael Arnett, both of Houston. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Alexandra Lea Whitehead ODESSA - Alexandra "Alex" Whitehead, 2 years, went to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, Jan. 30, 2002, at her home in Midland after a lengthy illness. Alex was born Nov. 19, 1999, in Odessa. She is the daughter of Kim and Jake Whitehead of Midland. Survivors include her parents; grandparents, Ray and Norma Alexander of Big Spring and Dan and Peggy Whitehead of San Angelo; great-great-grandmother, Genevieve Valladao of California; great-grandparents, Buddy and Bessie Whitehead of Odessa, Fern Alexander of Big Spring, Anita Nall of Mineral Wells and Nita Valladao of California; aunt and uncles, Christy and Kent Brown of The Colony and Wes Whitehead of Arlington; numerous great-aunts, uncles and cousins; and special caregiver, Yolanda Jimenez. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Midland with Dr. David Ring, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Big Spring, officiating. Isaacs-Call ODESSA - Asha Call died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at her home after a long and very difficult battle with Shy-Drager Syndrome, a virtually untreatable form of Parkinson's disease. Her courage, optimism and determination were an inspiration to all whose lives she touched. Asha was born May 7, 1957, in the Indian state of Kerela to Alice Joseph Isaacs and K.V. Isaacs. She was the scion of an Old Anglican family of India and was baptized in the Anglican Church there. As a child, she lived in Kuwait, where her father was an executive with the Kuwait Oil Co. Asha later attended boarding school in India. Her university education consisted of time in Great Britain at Cambridge and a degree from the University of Madras in India. Asha came to the United States in 1989. She married Frank Call Sept. 1, 1990. She served as vice president of the company she and her husband founded, F.A. International. Asha served on the board at St. John's Episcopal School. She was an active member of St. Barnabas' Episcopal Church in Odessa until the time of her illness. She and Frank have two sons, William Isaac Call, age 8, and Alexander Christian Call, age 6. In addition to her husband and sons, Asha is survived by a brother, Rincy Isaacs of Cleveland, Ohio; and sisters, Reeny Tharian of Sunnyville and Lee Logan of Tampa, Fla. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at St. Barnabas' Episcopal Church. Guest celebrant, the Rev. Laura Deaderick, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Autonomic Dysfunction Center, Vanderbilt University, Room AA, Medical Center North, Nashville, Tenn., 37232, or St. Barnabas' Episcopal Church, 4141 Tanglewood, Odessa, Texas, 79762.
