She left us Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, to be united with her preceding family and her Lord Jesus, whom she loved. Brave and headstrong as always, she faced her own mortality with the hope that only comes from great faith. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and had worked in the past as a volunteer for Catholic Charities. She was always one to reach out and lend a hand to those in need. She will be received into the Lord's mansion by her husband, Edwin Lee Matteson; son, Joseph Anthony Matteson Sr.; grandson, Joseph Matteson Jr.; and her parents, Macario and Sofia Gonzalez.
