Permian Basin Obituaries Copyright © 1999-2002 Odessa American. All rights reserved ============================================================================================ Tuesday February 19, 2002 Eufemia M. Alvarado ODESSA - Eufemia M. Alvarado, 62, of Odessa was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at her residence surrounded by her loving family at her bedside. Ama, as she was known to all who knew her, was born March 20, 1939, in Vado de Piedra, Mexico, to Ursolo and Emiliana Marquez. She married Angel Alvarado Sr. Sept. 24, 1955, in Marfa. To this marriage was the unification of six children. During her last days with her family, her desire was that they continue to cherish each other while she was gone. As her family sought a miracle on earth, the day came that her departure was bittersweet. Tears of relief and tears of sadness were shed as one of the most important people in the family left to rest. There will be no more doctors. There will be no more pain. Our beloved one is in paradise full of joy, happiness and health. To those who helped, we would like to thank you. Alma, thank you for your tender hands that nursed her in her time of need. Annabell, thank you for your words of love and encouragement you gave her as she lay wondering if she did all she could for each one of her children. Sally, thank you for your cooking and keeping of the house as they were away. Arthur, thank you for being there to fulfill God's plan for her as she took her last breath hearing the Word of Truth. Angel, thank you for your time and patience as you showed her that you would give the sun and the moon for her. Armando, thank you for your will to do the ultimate of yourself during her illness and until the very end. A special thanks to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for all the wonderful care, skill and most of all, love for us all. Special thanks to the Odessa Funeral Home staff. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Alvaro Marquez. Larry had worked many years in the oilfield business and had enjoyed the past few years doing yard maintenance and landscaping. Larry spent many years going in circles at Odessa Speedbowl and Twin Cities as one of the better drivers the tracks endured. Many remember Larry as one of the most generous and compassionate of all drivers. If there was ever one in need, Larry was the one to come to their aide without a second thought. He was a hard worker with much compassion and concern for those he came in contact with. Larry brought life to everything he touched and was one that could bring a smile to all those around. His most treasured possessions on this earth were his wife of 35 years, grandchildren, family and friends. Larry was known as "Papa" by his grandchildren and "Uncle Bull" by his nieces and nephews. Larry's short life brought many years of happiness and good humor to all of those fortunate to share with him. His good charm, great wit and warm heart is what will be missed most of all. Larry was met at the gates of heaven by his father, Pete; mother-in-law, Bernice Wysong; and friends. We love you, husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend.
