She was born April 20, 1915, in Magnolia, Ark., to W.B. and Vashti Stevens. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 6, 2002, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin Warren officiating. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2002, at Magnolia Memorial Park in Magnolia, Ark., with the Rev. David Watkins officiating. Mrs. Adkins married William A. Adkins on Nov. 9, 1941, in Magnolia. They moved to Odessa in 1944. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Richman of Odessa; son, Bill Adkins of Plano; grandchildren, Andy and Patti Adkins of Fairfax, Va., Matthew and Stacie Adkins of Plano, Joel Adkins of Plano and Leanne Richman of Odessa; and two great-grandchildren. Earnest Mobley ODESSA - Earnest C. "Buddy" Mobley, 67, of Odessa passed away Sunday, March 3, 2002, at his home. He was born Aug. 22, 1934, in Throckmorton to James and Gladys Mobley. He came to Odessa in 1936 from Strawn and graduated from Odessa High School in 1956. He joined the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1955 and served during the Korean War as an engine specialist. He graduated from Sul Ross. He married Eunice Johnson on Feb. 14, 1968, in Odessa. He was owner of Triple A Chemicals and retired from Basin Acidizing in 1998. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and a lifelong member of Amvets. Both parents and his wife, Eunice, preceded him in death. Survivors include his son, Calvin Mobley of Odessa; daughter, Brandy Dodson and husband Vance of Ardmore, Okla.; brother, James T. "Sonny" Mobley and wife Sandra of Marble Falls; sister, Betty Haines and husband Gene of Odessa; mother-in-law, Billie Johnson; sisters-in-law, Alberta Hodgson and husband Frank and Joy Johnson of Odessa and Gayle Guthrie and husband Richard of Kissimmee, Fla.; and grandchildren, Callie Chacon, Melinda Chacon and Nova Dodson. Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. today, March 6, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Paul Trejo officiating. Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Bertha Yvohn Sawyer ODESSA - Graveside services for Bertha Yvohn Sawyer, 44, of Odessa will be at 10 a.m. today, March 6, 2002, at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Crow of Lamesa officiating. Arrangements by Head Family Funeral Home of Levelland. She died Saturday, March 2, 2002, in Odessa. She was born Nov. 20, 1957, in Big Spring to the late Leonard Leroy Jones and Bertha Lea Davis. She married Donald Dean Sawyer Jr. He died in 1985. She then married Luther Alvin Scarber Jr. in 1985. She was an emergency medical technician. She worked in construction as an industrial craftsperson and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her first husband and her parents. She is survived by her husband, Luther Alvin Scarber Jr. of Odessa; three daughters, Donna Kilgore, Lorie Sawyer and Lisa Tatom, all of Odessa; three grandchildren; two sisters, Laura Koontz of Fort Worth and Wanda Hopkins of Odessa; and four brothers, Wesley E. Jones of Santa Anna, Jack C. Jones of Fort Worth, Richard L. Jones of Odessa and James P. Jones of Lamesa. Timothy Fuller Truex ODESSA - Timothy Truex, 45, of Odessa passed away Saturday, March 2, 2002, in Galveston. He was born Aug. 3, 1956, in Odessa. He married Sherron Goss on Aug. 3, 1979, in Giddings. He was a lifelong resident of Odessa and worked as a certified pipeline welder inspector. He had worked for M.B.F. Inspection for the past four years. He was a member of Odessa Tabernacle and has gone home to be with his Lord. He is survived by his wife, Sherron Truex of Odessa; two sons, Nathan Davis Truex and Taylor Dan Truex, both of Odessa; two daughters, Casey Ellen Truex and Anna Marie Truex, both of Odessa; parents, Edmund and Mary Truex of Odessa; three brothers, Pat Truex of Monahans, Mike Truex of Magnolia and Jeff Thummel of Midland; and two sisters, Janelle Edwards of Midland and Joan Sanders of Lexington. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Odessa Tabernacle with Pastor Doug Herget officiating.
