"Red" Crabb, 56, of Odessa passed away Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Oct. 14, 1945, in Hamlin. He married Gloria Cranford on July 2, 1993, in Fort Stockton. He was a lifelong resident of Odessa and worked as a drilling consultant for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Crabb. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Crabb of Odessa; three sons, Mark Crabb and Lance Burleson, both of Odessa, and Gary Wilkinson of Amarillo; three daughters, Rhonda Lazore of Charleston, S.C., Jeanie Arredondo of Odessa and Julie Bateman of Duncan, Okla.; three sisters, Linda Hargreaves of Odessa, Deborah Lewis and Sheila Iness, both of Dilley; and 16 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clydell Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Belle "Mom" Smith ODESSA - On March 6, 2002, Belle "Mom" Smith went on to be with the Lord, who she loved so much. She was a longtime member of Westwood Baptist Church. She was born June 25, 1918, in Red Fork, Okla., to Wylie James and Evie Napper. She was the middle child with six older and six younger brothers and sisters. Belle attended a small country school in Dawson County. She and her family lived and worked on a cotton farm where she met Carl Smith, the love of her life. They were married Sept. 19, 1936, and over the years became the proud parents to five children. Belle was a wonderful mother to her children and all their friends. Everyone called her Mom. She began babysitting in the early '60s and "raised half of Odessa." Mom loved people, children and animals. She had many devoted friends and was an excellent seamstress, kept an immaculate home, made and decorated cakes for the public and was a great cook. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Several of Belle's family members have gone before her, including her husband, mother and father and 11 of her brothers and sisters. Belle left many loved ones to carry out her legacy, including her children, Kenneth Smith and wife Patty of Sweeny, Micheal Bob Smith and wife Teresa of Mineral Wells, Randy Smith and wife Janet of Odessa, Joe Smith of Odessa and Kadon Fisher of Odessa; sister, Suvee Martin of Lubbock; grandchildren, Tami DeLuca, Toni Locklar, Rusty Smith, Josh Randall, Koolade Randall and Evin Smith; and great-grandchildren, Kenny Beaty, Kacy Beaty, Nic Bownds, Rio DeLuca, River DeLuca and Skyler Smith. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 9, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Weeks Dubose officiating. A prayer service will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. The family wishes to thank Dr. Madhava Agusala for his wonderful care over the last few years. Darrell Lee Adams LAKE COLEMAN - Darrell Lee Adams, 47, of Lake Coleman died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at his residence. Darrell was born May 1, 1954, in Odessa. He attended Odessa High School and Permian High School. He was happily married to Glenda Norene Adams. He studied jewelry making for several years and he loved to fish. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Norene of Lake Coleman; parents, Delores and Glen Adams of Odessa; his sister, Glenda Lynn Adams of Odessa; and grandmother, Helen Carter Ventress of Terlton, Okla. Services will be at 2 p.m. today, March 9, 2002, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Coleman. Burial will follow at Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
