Terry Sr. ODESSA - Melvin D. Terry Sr., 77, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Avalon Place. He was born March 22, 1925, in Muskogee, Okla. He married Mattie Lou Richmonn on Sept. 7, 1945, in Stinnet. Mr. Terry moved to Odessa in 1951 from Snyder. He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Terrace Hills Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Fletcher Terry, and grandson, Sammy Terry. He is survived by his wife, Lou Terry of Odessa; son, Melvin D. Terry Jr. of Andrews; brothers, Roy H. Terry and Billy Rex Terry, both of Amarillo; sister, Hazel Wolford of Borger; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Anthony Terry, Billy Terry, Robert Manley, Terry Gentry, Kirk Reese and Shane Marsh. Honorary pallbearers will be R.L. Hamm and A.G. Haggard. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Essie Mae Wright ODESSA - Essie Mae Wright, 96, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2002, in Irving. She was born May 15, 1905, in Hico. She married T.L. Wright on Jan. 19, 1935, in Hico. Essie moved to Odessa in 1960 from Big Lake. She baby-sat many children from 1960 to 1987. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended meetings of the Exxon Annuitants Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.L. "Stormy" Wright, and daughter, LaNell Wright. She is survived by her sons, Don Wright and wife Sue of Odessa and Bob Wright and wife Barbara of Irving; sister, Lucille Miller of Carlsbad, N.M.; three grandchildren, Keith Wright of Irving, Ginger Abbott of San Diego, Calif., and Anita Callaway of Arlington; and two great-grandchildren, Zane Abbott of San Diego and Carmon Callaway of Arlington. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2002, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Trout officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. The family requests memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Earl F. Kirby ODESSA - Earl F. Kirby, 77, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born Sept. 30, 1924, in Rosebud. He married Carmen Webber on Aug. 1, 1948, in Wink. Mr. Kirby was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He owned Kirby Appliance Store and was a member of the Christian Church and the Odessa Development Corp. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Carmen Kirby of Odessa; daughter, Suzanne Hill and husband Tracy of Odessa; three grandchildren, Chad Waite, Casey Waite and Jason Waite and wife Lisa, all of Odessa; a great-grandson, Christopher Waite of Odessa; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Bugg officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Shannon Raburn-Wyatt ODESSA - Shannon Michelle Raburn-Wyatt, 29, of Frisco passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2002. She was born July 12, 1972, in Odessa to Ronnie and Shelley Raburn. Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. today, April 4, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jim Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Shannon graduated from Permian in 1992. She moved to Frisco from Odessa in 1996. She worked for Cain Watters and Associates in Dallas for six years. She is survived by a son, Hayden Wyatt of Frisco; parents, Stacy and Shelley Thatcher of Odessa; brother, Shane Thatcher of Odessa; fiance, Randy Porier of Frisco; father, Ronnie Raburn; grandparents, Pat Suggs, Bill Suggs, Odell and Francis Cook, Bonnie Cook and Ruth Thatcher; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
