All rights reserved ================================================================================ Tuesday April 09, 2002 Elisha Snodgrass ODESSA - Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Elisha Snodgrass, went to be forever with the Lord on April 6, 2002, at Hospice House in Odessa. He was also blessed with the loving care of Dr. B.J. Naidu, the nursing staff of Star Care Nursing, friends and family through a long illness. He was born Aug. 2, 1919, in Coleman County. His family moved to Midland in 1928 and to Odessa in 1936. They were farmers. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force Air Transport Command from May 1942 until June 1945. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4372, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Elisha was an oilfield salesman for Brookman Oil Co., salesman and assistant manager for Petroleum Distributing Co. and owner of Ector Feed Co. during the late 1940s, '50s and early '60s. He retired as supervisor for the City of Odessa Sanitation Department in 1983 after more than 19 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wanda; son, David Spenser; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Roy Wingate; three grandsons, Jason, Todd and Travis Spenser, all of Odessa; two granddaughters, Allison Knight and her husband Danny of Wylie and Lisa Ingram of Denton; two sisters, Peggy Lutrull of Brownwood and Grace Huff of Odessa; and two nephews and their wives, Jim and Nancy Furry of Brownwood and Lynn and Jane Huff of Odessa and their families. His parents, Dave N. and Josie V. Snodgrass, preceded him in death. He also had a host of other relatives and friends, many of whom have gone on before him. A memorial service is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with Brother Clydell Chapman, pastor of Northside Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be three of his grandsons, Jason Spenser, Travis Spenser, Danny Knight, Terry Lange, Marcus Deporto and Bobby Spruill. W.L. "Bud" Harrison will be the honorary pallbearer. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Pauline M. Chapman ODESSA - Pauline M. Chapman, 88, of Odessa passed away Sunday, April 7, 2002. She was born Dec. 26, 1913, in Decker to Marion and Sarah Mathews. Pauline married Jack Chapman on Aug. 13, 1939, in Denton. They moved to Odessa 48 years ago from Sweetwater. She was a beautician in Sweetwater for eight years where she owned her own shop. She was a member of Eisenhower Church of Christ. She liked playing bridge, cooking, gardening, sewing, working crossword puzzles and her little Chihuahua "Consuelo." Her grandson, Stephen Guy Johns; three brothers, Archie Mathews, Clarence Mathews and Roy Mathews; and a sister, Lucy Ottinger preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Jack Chapman of Odessa; daughter, Ann McGuire of Odessa; brother, Ernest Mathews of California; grandson, Philip Johns; granddaughter, Liz Moore and husband Jerry; great-grandson, Sean Alexander; and great-granddaughter, Stevie Moore. The family will receive visitors from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Mr. Burt Groves officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family requests memorials be made to the Greater West Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Peter Frederick Forness ODESSA - Peter Frederick Forness, 81, of Odessa passed away Saturday, April 6, 2002, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village. He was born Sept. 18, 1920, in Pawhuska, Okla. He married Mary Elizabeth Sage on Oct. 24, 1942, in Gowanda, N.Y. Mr. Forness played football for Oklahoma University. He moved to Odessa in the 1960s from Farmington, N.M. He was district foreman for Amoco Corp. and retired after 43 years of service. He was preceded in death by daughter, Sharon Vega, and granddaughter, Teresa Witt. He is survived by his wife, Mary Forness of Odessa; daughters, Marsha Ward of Odessa and Barbara Boop of Kingsland; seven grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 9, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Allison Joy Kunkel AUSTIN - Allison Joy Kunkel, age 9, was born Aug. 28, 1992, and went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 7, 2002. Allison was a very happy child; she graced her family and friends with love and smiles. She is survived by her parents, Ron and Ramona Kunkel of San Angelo; grandparents, Nancy Fabian and Guadalupe Fabian, both of Austin, and Louise Kunkel of Odessa; great-grandmother, Adelia Fabian of Austin; godparents, Paul and Joyce Gibb of Austin; and four aunts and two uncles. The family would like to thank Dr. Lewis King, Dr. Casey Mulcihy and Dr. Stuart Rowe for all their care throughout her years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 9, 2002, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Weaver as officiant. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Austin. Shannon Raburn-Wyatt ODESSA - Shannon Raburn-Wyatt, 29, passed away on April 2, 2002, in Frisco, Texas. She was born July 12, 1972, in Odessa, Texas, and graduated from Permian High School in 1990. Shannon married Michael Roy Wyatt in the home of her stepfatherm Stacy Thatcherm and her mother Shelley Thatcher on May 8, 1993, in Odessa, Texas. Shannon and Michael moved to Mannheim, Germany where they lived for three years. Shannon and Michael moved to Odessa from Germany in 1995 and then moved to Carrollton in 1996. Shannon is survived by her husband, Michael Roy Wyatt of Carrollton, Tx., whom she was married to until her death; their son, Hayden Ray Wyatt who resides with his father; her stepdaughter, Jessie Wyatt of Lubbock, Tx., father-in-law Kenneth Ray Wyatt; stepmother-in-law, Rebekah Wyatt; stepsister-in-law, Candace Perry; stepsister-in-law, Victoria Perry; brother-in-law, Steve Wyatt; sister- in-law, Paula Wyatt; niece, Bethany Wyatt; nephew, Jonathan Wyatt all of Odessa, Texas, and sister-in-law, Mitzi Wyatt of Brownwood, Tx. Funeral services were held April 4, 2002, at 3 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Shannon fought a courageous battle with cancer with the support of her husband, Michael Wyatt and son, Hayden Wyatt and other family and friends. She was very loved and will be deeply forever missed.
