All rights reserved ================================================================================ Wednesday April 24, 2002 Vivian Gordon Wolfe Bagley ANDREWS - Vivian Gordon Wolfe Bagley died Monday, April 22, 2002. She was born Feb. 2, 1920, in Carnegie, Okla. She died at her home with her family in attendance. Vivian was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church when she moved to Andrews in 1950. She retired from the Andrews Independent School District cafeteria at San Andres Elementary after 19 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church. She was a friend to everyone she knew and considered herself lucky to be a part of Andrews for her entire life. She was born to Fate and Julia Gordon, who preceded her in death, as well as her husband, Henry Wolfe; daughter, Marion Wolfe Haile; and grandson, Richard Linton. Henry Wolfe was the father of all her children. Her husband, Regie Bagley, preceded her in death. She was a fun-loving grandma, an active and terrific gran-gran and full-time mother to seven children. Her friends and family will miss her sunny smile. She is survived by her children, Nadean Shipley, Maxine Kinney and husband Charlie, Janice Brown and husband Benny and Marsha Perez and husband Joe, all of Andrews, Carolyn Meyers of Odessa, Larry Wolfe and wife Joann of Breckenridge and Shirley McWilliams and her husband Bobby of Greenwood. She has one brother still living, Clarence Gordon and wife Hazel and their daughter, Patricia. She has 21 grandchildren, Tracy Mainka, Rachelle Gaines, Tonya Horn, Terri Sanders, Tammie Hernandez, Glen Haile, Kim Ezzell, Regina Howard, Greg Martin, Tina Martin, Brenda Wolfe, Tony Meyers, Lisa Meyers, Kim Meyers, Sherry Berry, Stacy Haynes, Steven Wolfe, Kenneth Wolfe, Ricky Wolfe and Rene and Jennifer Elkins. She has 31 great-grandchildren, Roxanne, Paula and Ryan Mainka, Scott Gaines, Chris and Lockie Breeding, Stormi and Tye Sanders, Brandi, Josh and Kristina Hernandez, Crystal and Zack Ezzell, Jessica, Katrina and Elizabeth Martin, Amber and Stefan Martin, Bryne and Bayli Berry, Mindy and Tanner Haynes, Tabitha, Gregory, Tye, Raylynn, Angela, Kevin and Joe Dean Wolfe and Brady Kirby. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2002, at First Baptist Church of Andrews with the Rev. H.A. Hanks officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice in Odessa. Services by McNett Funeral Home. David Allen Gavia Monte ODESSA - David Allen Gavia Monte, 17, a student at Zion Christian School of Odessa, died Sunday, April 21, 2002, in a car accident. He was born Feb. 6, 1985, in Odessa. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2002, at Zion Christian Church, 9300 W. 26th St. The Rev. Dewey Blivins will officiate. He is survived by his mother, Frances M. Monte of Odessa; father, Jeffery Monte of Odessa; stepfather, James Bishop of Odessa; sisters, Malinda J. Dollison, Dee Dee Hall and Sandra L. Clement, all of Odessa; brothers, Ricky A. Watson, Darryl W. Masterson, Chad M. Washington Ave., Odessa. Larry Pon Sr. ODESSA - Larry Pon Sr., 48, of Odessa passed away Saturday, April 20, 2002, at his residence. He was born May 21, 1953, to Bill and Margaret Pon in Fort Worth. He moved to Odessa in 1989 from Decatur. He was an employee of Key Energy Services for the past two years. He enjoyed hunting, working on the computer and trucks. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed. Both parents preceded him in death. He is survived by a son, Larry Pon Jr. and wife Emilia of Felton; three daughters, Misty Garza and husband Herman of Odessa, Krystle Pon of Odessa and Michelle Alvarez of Dallas; two brothers, Floyd Houtz and wife Brenda and Bill H. Pon Jr. and wife Cathy; two sisters, Kitty Taylor and husband Jimmy of Perrin and Verna Jones and husband Keith of Decatur; nine grandchildren; his ex-wife, Elizabeth F. Pon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Maxey officiating. Burial will be held today, April 24, 2002, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. The family request memorials directed to the American Heart Society. Funeral services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Larry Wayne Gryder AUSTIN - Larry Wayne Gryder of Austin passed away Sunday, April 21, 2002. He was born Jan. 28, 1945, in Goldsmith. Larry was born of a depression-era family and learned quickly to take care of his parents, brothers and sister. He could build anything, fix anything and touched the heart of everyone he knew. Larry married Sue in 1965, and they moved to Andrews. He began working in real estate in Odessa where he began Gryder Construction, which he moved to Austin in 1994. He and Sue divorced in 1990 but always kept in touch and took care of the kids together. He had a special love for Sue Gryder, his wife of 25 years, and was the perfect father to their children, son, Don Gryder and daughter, Christi Gryder. With him, there were no limits to his love and support of his kids. He was a strong, kind, gentle man, a loving partner to Diane Williams, with whom he shared a loving home in Austin. He was a loyal companion and loved her very much. They had a very special relationship, sharing interests of horseback riding, traveling and building custom homes together. He was the most important person in her life and will be missed more than words can say. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvel and Irene Gryder; brother, Bid Gryder; and sister, Neeta. He is survived by his best friend and life partner, Diane Williams; son, Don Gryder; daughter, Christi Gryder; granddaughter, Ashley Hundemer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Sybil Gryder, Donnie Gryder, Ronny and Becky Gryder and Rodney and Pat Gryder; sister, Sharon McKee and husband Frank; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, April 24, 2002, at Cook-Walden Chapel of The Hills Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. today, April 24, 2002, at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 W. William Cannon, in Austin with family friend Tandy Adams officiating.
