All rights reserved ================================================================================ ============ Wednesday May 01, 2002 Obituaries Wanda Cooper KERMIT - Wanda Cooper, 71, of Kermit passed away Sunday, April 28, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She was born May 12, 1930, in Colorado City to James Marion Marlos Lipham and Velma Feaster Lipham. Wanda married D.L. "Lefty" Cooper on June 3, 1948, in Kermit. "Lefty" preceded her in death Jan. 29, 2001. She and "Lefty" were founders and operators of Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc. from 1962 to 1997. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kermit and was a resident of Kermit for 66 years. Wanda was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Odom. She is survived by her son, Jay Cooper of Kermit; a daughter, Doylene Plummer and her husband Jerry of Amarillo; and three brothers, James Lipham and his wife Mildred of Odessa, Ron Lipham and his wife Faye of Frisco and Bill Lipham and his wife Sharon of Odessa. She is also survived by grandchildren, Doyle Plummer and his wife Lorri of Denver, Colo., and Crystal Plummer of Amarillo, and great- grandchildren, Colton and Jordan Plummer of Denver, Colo., and Hope Plummer of Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church in Kermit with the Revs. David Weyant and Beth Harrington officiating. Burial will follow at the Kermit Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Odom, Daniel Odom, Ricky Odom, Randy Odom, Eddie Lipham and James Kvasnicka. Funeral services are entrusted to Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc. of Kermit. Roy Dennis Clingo MIDLAND - Roy Dennis Clingo died Saturday, April 27, 2002, at a local hospital. He was born April 28, 1929, in Newton, England, to Thomas Henry and Louisa Clingo. Roy was reared and educated in England. During World War II, he served in the Army. He was employed with GM in England. On May 31, 1983, he married Patricia McDonald in Bristol, England. Roy was preceded in death by a son, Adrian Clingo. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Clingo of Midland; his stepdaughter, Sandi Veazey of Midland; his stepsons, Alan Lee of Midland and Brian and Stephen Lee, both of Hattiesburg, Miss.; four grandsons, Paul Lee of Iraan, Michael Liverett of Odessa, Richard Liverett of Laurel, Miss., and Chris Lee of Mexico; a granddaughter, Ambra Lee of Mississippi; sister, Dawn Gray of Crane; and two sisters and three brothers who reside in England. Services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2002, at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Barndt officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Ellis Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Scott Edward Slankard ODESSA - Scott Edward Slankard, 51, a glass glazer, passed away Friday, April 26, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Aug. 8, 1950, in North Platte, Neb. Memorial services were held Tuesday. He was a man who was loved by all. He had few enemies and was loved by everyone in Odessa. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by a brother, Michael Glenn Slankard of Boardman, Ore.; a sister, Sharon Hoosier of San Antonio; and a special friend, Dollie Boddie of Odessa.
