Hesser, 78, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born July 23, 1923, in Bennett. He married Lois Holman on Aug. 7, 1942, in California. Mr. Hesser moved to Odessa in 1949 from Illinois. He was Vice President of Trico Industries. He was an Air Force Veteran, a 55-year life member of the Masonic Lodge, Noble in the El Maida Temple in El Paso and 50-year member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He served on the YMCA board. He was a member and Committee Chairman of the Permian Basin Oil Show and member of the Odessa Country Club. He was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Lois Hesser of Odessa; daughter, Sherry Douglas and husband Scott of Dallas; sister, Barbara Workman of Cottage Hills, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Bradley Dale. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, May 18, 2002, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Cheryl Homsher officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Westminster Presbyterian Church. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Robert Elias Ramirez AUSTIN - Robert Elias Ramirez, 36, of Austin, a professor of Humanities and Philosophy at Austin Community College, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at his family's residence in Odessa. He was born Oct. 1, 1965, in Odessa. He graduated with honors from Permian High School and the University of Texas at Austin. He was a member of Mensa. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, May 18, 2002, at Trinity Baptist Church with Brother Wes Duckett officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his parents, Roberto Ramirez and Carol Ramirez, both of Odessa; brother, Daniel Paul Ramirez of Odessa; sisters, Kerry Kelly of Plantersville and Lynda Polk of Houston; his grandmother, Lyndel Stephens, who was his special friend; and many other beloved friends and relatives. He is also survived by his precious little Sheltie, Cara. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations in memory of Robert Elias Ramirez be sent to the Friends of the David Powell Clinic care of Henry Navarez, 4614 N. IH 35, Austin, Texas, 78701. Services are entrusted to Memorial Services, 404 N. Washington Ave., Odessa. Mary Lou Greenwood MIDLAND - Mary Lou Greenwood, beloved wife, mother and teacher, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2002, at a local hospital. Lou was born Sept. 14, 1929, in Galveston to William and Mary McNamara. She moved to Fort Worth during World War II and graduated from Central High School. Lou attended TCU and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in English. In 1950, she married Eugene Greenwood in Fort Worth. Prior to her retirement Lou taught for over 25 years in the Permian Basin with 18 years at Crockett Junior High. She was an active volunteer with the Midland County Library, Meals on Wheels, Lighthouse for the Blind and also tutoring International Newcomers in English. Lou was a member of Memorial Christian Church in Midland. Lou is survived by her husband, Eugene Greenwood of Midland; their children, daughter, Alice "Lisa" and husband Rick Craven and their daughters Melanya and Jacob Sanchez of Midland and Ashley Craven of Austin; daughter, Meredith Greenwood-Brown and her husband Drew Brown and their sons Joshua and Elliott Greenwood-Brown of Fort Worth; son, Sean and wife Siobhan and their son Ronan of New York, N.Y.; son, Glen Greenwood of Midland; daughter, Megan Gr. and Jeff Myers and their daughter Liz Myers of Midland; and Lou's cousin, George Dark of Fort Worth. Memorial services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Memorial Christian Church with the Rev. Don Childers officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
