Barker was born Nov. 18, 1931, to A.L. and Ethel Barker in the Cee Vee Community near Paducah. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ida M. Barker of Gardendale. L.C. passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at his home. He was a member of the Andrews Highway Church of Christ in Midland. He worked as a mechanic for Loffland Bros., Feldman Engine Service and Cactus Drilling Co. in Odessa. He owned and operated Barker Waste Oil until his retirement in 1986. L.C. is survived by his wife, Ida; a son, Terry Barker and his wife Katy of Silverton; a son, Steven Barker of Midland; a daughter, Tina Randolph and her husband Billy of Ruidoso, N.M.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by six sisters. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today, May 30, 2002, at the Eastmound Cemetery in Matador. Funeral arrangements are made through Seigler Funeral Home in Matador. Tomas M. Garza Jr. ODESSA - Tomas Munoz Garza Jr. of Odessa died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. today at Iglesia Buenas Nuevas, 505 Vine Ave., with the Rev. Rosario Hill officiating. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2002, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tommy Garza and Tomas Flores officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. He was born April 17, 1909, in Sanderson and was a resident of Odessa for 36 years. He was a retired laborer and a Christian. He is survived by his wife, Biatriz Garza of Odessa; five daughters, Azusana Garza of Port Lavaca, Delores G. Martinez of Midland, Rosa G. White and husband Santiago of Borger, Margarita G. Gomez and husband Pilar and Ruth G. Watters and husband Carl, all of Odessa; five sons, Valdemar A. Garza and wife Mary of Odessa, Joe A. Garza and wife Adelina of Clinton, Okla., Louis A. Garza and wife Lillian of Odessa, Tommy A. Garza and wife Juanita of Bryan and Romeo A. Garza of Odessa; 34 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home. J.Y. Shipman JAL, N.M. - J.Y. Shipman, 80, of Jal, N.M., died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, in Jal. Services will be at 9 a.m. MST Friday, May 31, 2002, at Calvary Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice, N.M., with Daryl Micham of the Jal Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be at the Jal Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Fort Bliss Military Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. MST today, May 30, 2002, at Calvary Funeral Home. He was born July 14, 1921, in Doole. He married Bettie Weaver on Aug. 7, 1942, in Lovington, N.M. J.Y. served in the Army from 1942 to 1945 as a corporal. During his service, he received a Good Conduct Medal and a EAME Campaign Medal with five bronze stars. He moved to Jal from Hobbs, N.M., in 1951. He was a pumper for Tenneco Oil Co. for 50 years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Jal Church of Christ, the Jal Masonic Lodge, the Jal Roping and Riding Club and the Pecos Cutting Horses Association. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jim, James and Robert Lee; and a sister, Zeola Bennett. He is survived by his wife, Bettie Shipman of the home; son, Dennis Shipman of Odessa; daughters, Jennifer Beckham of Jal and Susan Bristow of Odessa; brother, Elbert Collins Shipman of Graham; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services are under the direction of Calvary Funeral Home of Eunice. Eloisa Granado Molina McCAMEY - Eloisa Granado Molina, 69, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Odessa Regional Hospital. She was born Aug. 20, 1932, in Presidio to Jose and Elena Granado. She lived in McCamey. She was married to the late Jesus Quintana Molina. She was a Catholic and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Quintana Molina; her parents; and a dear friend, Jacobo Baiza. She is survived by four sons, Eddie Berto Molina of Midland, Benito Molina of Lovington, N.M., Ruben Molina and Benjamin Molina, both of McCamey; a daughter, Martha Gomez of Odessa; four brothers, Apolonio Granado, Manuel Granado of McCamey, Jose Granado Jr. and Felipe Granado of Odessa; seven sisters, Juana Carrasco, Pomposa Molina, Delfina Trumble, Elena Garcia of McCamey, Belsora Valenzuela of Odessa, Maria Gonzalez of Watsonville, Calif., and Carmen Wethington of Florence; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wake services will be held at 7 p.m. today, May 30, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCamey. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Barry McLean officiating followed by burial at Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey. Serving as pallbearers will be Fabian Gomez, Damian Gomez, Benito Rafael Molina, Benjamin Allen Molina, Jesus Ruben "J.R."
