All rights reserved =========================================================================== Saturday June 08, 2002 Neva Jones Phillips BIG SPRING - Neva Jones Phillips, 83, of Fort Collins, Colo., went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 4, 2002, in Fort Collins. Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, June 8, 2002, at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with the Rev. Dudley Mullins, pastor of East Fourth Street Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Phillips was born April 15, 1919, in Big Spring and married Elgin Jones on Nov. 20, 1937, in Lees Community in Howard County. He preceded her in death June 3, 1985. She then married Roy Phillips on April 29, 1989, in Odessa, and he preceded her in death June 28, 1996. Mrs. Phillips graduated from Stanton High School in 1937. She and Elgin lived in Odessa for 23 years before moving back to Big Spring. She moved to Fort Collins in December 1998 and was a homemaker. Mrs. Phillips was a member of East Fourth Street Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for 50 years. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Jack Hanks of Wellington, Colo.; her grandson and his wife, Andy and Kristi Hanks and their children, Gavin, Kassidie, Isaiah and Kaci Rae Hanks, all of Grand Junction, Colo.; her granddaughter and her husband, Sunni Lea and Mark Browning and their children, Brice and Kailee Browning, all of Fort Collins; a sister, Marjorie Grissam of Midland; and two brothers, Harmon Smith of Victoria and Howard Smith of Evergreen, Colo. She was also preceded in death by her son, Harvey Elgin Jones; her parents, Oscar and Annie Smith; and two brothers, Robert Smith and Norris Smith. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. www.npwelch.com Kenneth Gayoso ODESSA - Kenneth Gayoso passed away from this life and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 5, 2002. Kenneth was born Jan. 24, 1947, in Dallas to Don Gayoso and Ruth Brown. He moved to Odessa in 1969 and worked as a machinist for Allbright Machine Shop for 20 years. He worked for Kelly's Tool Works for the last five years. He married Shirley Ruth Bosch on Dec. 30, 1982. He was a loving and faithful husband who adored his wife and family. He was blessed with two sons and a daughter-in-law. He was a wonderful father and friend. Kenneth was a faithful member of Antioch Christian Church. He loved the Lord with all of his heart. Jesus Christ was the center of his life, and it showed in everything he did. He always had a smile on his face and something to say to make you laugh. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ruth Gayoso of Odessa; his two sons, Kenneth Bryan Gayoso and Jason Robert Shedd; daughter-in-law, Jill Lynn Shedd; three brothers, Clyde Manuel Gayoso of Merkel, Donnie Dalehart Gayoso of Anna and Lester Ray Gayoso of Irving; sisters, Shirley Ann Johnston of Anna and Debby Ellis of Fort Worth; and numerous aunts, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 8, 2002, at Antioch Christian Church with Don Fankhauser officiating. Services have been entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
