(Halbert) Yerby EL PASO - Graveside services for Sandi E. (Halbert) Yerby, 59, of El Paso are scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Restlawn Memorial Park in El Paso under the direction of Kaster-Maxon and Futrell Funeral Home. Family visitations were held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kaster-Maxon and Futrell Funeral Home in El Paso. Mrs. Yerby died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, in El Paso after a lengthy battle with lupus. She had lived most of her life in El Paso. She was director of the Lupus Foundation for 23 years and was involved with several schools in the El Paso District with the drill and flag teams. She was also a baton teacher for many years and had worked with the El Paso Shriners Drum and Drill Corp. for several years preparing the team for competition in which they won top honors. Survivors include her sons, Mike Yerby of Denver and Jeff Yerby of El Paso; daughter, Kelli Blanco of El Paso; sister, Pamela Gatlin of Odessa; parents, Olen and Lucille Halbert of Odessa; and three grandchildren, all of El Paso.
