Arnold ODESSA - Mitchell V. Arnold, age 82, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at his home. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Emmett Barnard officiating. Mitchell was born June 30, 1919, in Corinth, Miss., to Fred and Elzadie Arnold. He married Lurlie Glisson on Oct. 8, 1938. Mitchell moved his family to Odessa in 1953. He worked in pipeline construction for a time, then went into business for himself with Arnold's Ditching Service from which he retired in 1987. Mitchell was a member of Westover Baptist Church. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a daughter. He is survived by his wife, Lurlie Arnold of Odessa; a daughter, Shirley Killion and husband Kenneth of West Des Moines, Iowa; two sons, Olen Arnold and wife Pat and Mitchell H. Arnold and good friend Val Abbott, all of Odessa; a brother, Inell Arnold of Walnut, Miss.; a sister, Verdie Lee English and husband Arlas of Guys, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Kirk Killion and wife DeAnn of Oklahoma City, Okla., Angela Arnold and Jamie Arnold of Frisco and Lisa Grissom and husband Craig of Odessa; and a great-grandchild, Danielle Killion of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. The family thanks all the people of Home Hospice who took such good care of Mitchell, especially Darla Walden and T.J. Palmer. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Home Hospice of Odessa. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Robert Shannon Fitzgerald CLEAR LAKE - Bobby Fitzgerald, 44, died of a heart attack Sunday, June 16, 2002, at his residence in San Leon. He was born Oct. 26, 1957, in Henderson to Robert Fitzgerald and Dottie (Fitzgerald) Russell. He was known to his friends as Bobby, growing up in Odessa. He was a proud graduate of Odessa High School in 1976, where he had many friends and many good times. Services are scheduled for 4 p.m. today, June 21, 2002, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in South Shore Harbour in League City. He is survived by wife, Vicki Fitzgerald of Salt Lake City, Utah; daughter and husband, Katja and Lupe Garcia; grandchildren, Averi and Alix of Anson; daughter and husband, Shauna and Eric Thompson of Salt Lake City, Utah; son, Kelly Fitzgerald of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandmother, Evelyn Fitzgerald of Tyler; stepfather, James Russell of San Leon; sister, Sharron (Fitzgerald) McCulley of League City; niece, Stefanie Watters; great-nephew, Zane Watters Pierce of League City; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
