Athey ODESSA - Ray B. Athey, 70, of Odessa passed away Thursday, June 27, 2002, at his home. He was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Weldon to Bascom Athey and Ora Adams. Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Midessa Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Nick Gates officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey. Ray married Julia Dale Trammell on April 21, 1951, in Crane. He worked for Ruthco when they moved to Odessa in 1962. He then worked for Texas Tanque and Athey Tank before retiring in 1994. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering, fishing, golf, square dancing and his family. He was a member of the Lions Club and a member of Midessa Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by both parents and his sister, Betty Athey. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Julia Dale of Odessa; son, Dennis Ray Athey of Livingston; daughter, Debra Kay Chastain of Odessa; sister, Carol Jean Anderson; grandchildren, Douglas Ray Athey, Darci Rebecca Athey, Leanna Dale Athey and Julia Elizabeth Chastain; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Kay Chastain and Jared Ray Chastain. Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Eben D. Warner Jr. PAMPA - Eben D. Warner Jr., 85, of Pampa died Thursday, June 27, 2002, in Pampa. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. today, June 29, 2002, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Penrod, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at the Chillicothe Cemetery in Chillicothe under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. He was born June 15, 1917, in Chadron, Neb. He graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Oklahoma State University, West Texas State University and received a law degree from Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn. He married Alice Tabor on Oct. 23, 1937, in Little Rock, Ark. He was an independent oil producer and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Alice, of 65 years; his daughter, Thera Warner Scott of Canyon; his son, Eben D. Warner III and wife Ludie of Odessa; his son, Mark Warner and wife Cay of Pampa; eight grandchildren, Lee Scott, Tol Scott, Theron Scott, Matt Scott, Morgan Fuller, Allison Warner, Rebekah Warner and Mary Alice Warner; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
