All rights reserved =========================================================================== Tuesday July 09, 2002 Emilio Armandez Jr. MIDLAND - Emilio Armandez Jr. passed away Friday, July 5, 2002, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Emilio was born March 19, 1945, in Monahans to Emilio Armendarez Sr. and Susie Gonzalez Armendarez. In 1993, he married Tania S. Kozlik. Emilio served in Vietnam and Korea as an Army medic for six years. He worked at Midland Memorial Hospital for 22 years as a registered nurse in numerous areas, including the emergency room, cardiac cath lab and most recently Memorial Rehab, where he retired in 2001. Emilio was an avid golfer and an active member of Hogan Park Association of Midland and past member of Pan American Golf Association of Odessa. Emilo was preceded in death by his father, Emilio Armendarez Sr.; his sister, Katherine Murray; and brother, Bennie Armendarez. Emilio is survived by his wife, Tania S. Armandez of Midland; his daughter, Salena D. Armandez of Midland; his mother, Susie Armendarez of Odessa; brother, Philip Armendarez and wife Ofelia of Odessa; brother, Pete Armendarez and his fiancee Helen of Odessa; brother, Gilbert Armendarez of Odessa; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Kathy Zitka of Michigan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Susann Kozlik of Midland; brother-in-law and sister- in-law, James and Karen DeGroot of Wisconsin; nephew, Benny Armendarez and wife Lisa of Oklahoma; nephew, Joey Wildeman of Odessa; and numerous other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Vogel, Dr. R.P. Sarva, Dr. Shelton Viney, Dr. Gregory Bartha, the staff of Midland Memorial Hospital and Dr. Vogel's office. Box 50082, Midland, Texas, 79710. Sue McAnally ODESSA - Sue McAnally, 86, of Odessa passed away Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. She lived at Avalon Place Nursing Home. She was born April 30, 1916, in Mangum, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of Northside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mac McAnally. She is survived by her daughter, Tommie Osborne of Odessa, and grandson, Darrel Osborne of Odessa. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, July 9, 2002, at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at Odessa Cemetery. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Bob L. Radabaugh ODESSA - Bob L. Radabaugh peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior the morning of July 7, 2002, at his home. He was born Jan. 30, 1928, in Oklahoma City to Robert and Pallie Radabaugh. He was a graduate of Bethany High School in Bethany, Okla., in 1946. He served in the Army, 82nd Airborne, from 1946 to 1947 as a corporal. He also served in the Air Force, 6205th AP GP, from 1951 to 1954 as an airman first class. He married Rose M. Cuppy on Sept. 9, 1951. He was born again into God's family in 1954 when he trusted in Christ. He became a deacon in 1954 at Western Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He also served as fireman with the Oklahoma City Fire Department. He was a pioneer in the underwater rescue unit there. Bob and Rose moved to Odessa in 1963 with their children. He was employed with Aquaness Chemicals and later Milchem Chemicals as a salesman. He later joined forces with friends to form Chemco Chemicals and Rebbco Chemicals. In the late '80s, after selling his part of Rebbco Chemicals, he continued to work within the petroleum industry and had become a partner in Tetraco Chemicals. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was also an avid and loyal Mojo supporter. His parents, Robert V. and Pallie M. Radabaugh, preceded him in death. Survivors include his bride of 51 years, Rose Radabaugh of the home; a brother, Vernon "Vic" Radabaugh and wife Sandra of Conroe; their children, Leigh Ann Radabaugh-Conley of Odessa and Dustin and wife Pamela Radabaugh of Hobbs, N.M.; his grandchildren, Erik and wife Michelle of Austin and Joshua and Tyler Radabaugh of Hobbs, N.M.; his nephews, Larry Rippee and wife Jan of Midland and Mike Rippee and wife Keoudone of Midland; and numerous other nephews, great- nephews and great-nieces. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2002, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Alice Marie Cooper ODESSA - Alice Marie Cooper was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Nowata, Okla., to John Russell and Hattie Cobb. She went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 7, 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Vernon Cooper. She is also survived by her three daughters and their families, Sherry Rose and husband Bill of Navasota and their children, Rodney Gillham and wife Brenda, Blake and Brett Rose, Jan Reynolds and husband Gerald of Odessa and their children, Shannon Windham and husband Shawn and Spencer Reynolds, Vicki Stewart and husband Gary of Georgetown and their children, McKensey and Kelsey Stewart, and three great- grandchildren, Taylor Gillham of Houston and Kinley and Kamille Windham of Odessa. Alice was a devoted Christian and member of Temple Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always proud of her family, she always had a shoulder to cry on and she offered Christian advice for every situation that arose. She was a guardian angel only a phone call away and now just a prayer away. The family would like to give their sincerest thanks to her numerous physicians and all the staff at the Odessa Hospice House for the loving care she received. Alice will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Visitation services will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 9, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Carl H. Goetz Jr. ODESSA - Carl H. Goetz Jr., age 63, of Odessa died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. Mr. Goetz was born June 23, 1939, in Breckenridge to Carl H. Sr. and Lochie Mae Goetz. Carl was a supportive and devoted husband to his wife, Evelyn, and loved his children and grandchildren. Carl took pride in his job with great integrity. He worked for Broncho Chevrolet, where he was truck manager for 31 years. He believed in doing the best job with prestige and a handshake. He was a quiet man who loved golf, restoring antique cars, especially his '32 Ford Roadster and '55 Chevy that were his pride and joys, and WTSRA Car Club. Carl treasured his family, friends and co-workers. Mr. Goetz is survived by his wife, Evelyn Goetz of Odessa; two sons, Robbie Goetz of Ballinger and Phillip Roberts of Odessa; a daughter, Rhonda Baldwin and husband Jeff of Plano; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katie, Corey, Diego and Nando; a brother-in-law, John Farmer and his wife Beverly of Crane; a niece, Amy Ramirez of Midland; and a nephew, Scott Farmer of Crane. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, July 9, 2002, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. George Ray Simpkins ODESSA - George Ray Simpkins, 70, of Odessa passed away Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital from complications from lung cancer. He was born Jan. 11, 1932, in Burnett to Edward and Alice Simpkins. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Sunset Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A family visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. George came to Odessa in 1951 from Burnett. He married Thelma Baer Sept. 17, 1951, in Texarkana, Ark. He worked for Jones Brother Dirt and Paving for 30 years before retiring in 1997. He loved to fish, play dominoes, watch and build go-carts and watch his grandchildren play baseball. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and working in his garden. His mother and father and a brother, Grover Lee Simpkins, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Simpkins of Odessa; daughters, Shirley Babcock and husband Terry and Sandi Vaught and husband Gary, both of Odessa; brother, Roy Simpkins of Odessa; sisters, Annie Hopper and Winnie Jackson, both of Marble Falls, Bea Peavy of Hawaii, Faye McKay of Kermit and Nell Belz of Monahans; four grandchildren, Amy Pattillo and husband Tim, Toni Rankin and husband Cody and Shawn and Travis Vaught; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor Pattillo.
