Foshee ODESSA - Charles E. Foshee, 65, of Odessa passed away Monday, July 15, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Jan. 10, 1937, in Clanton, Ala., to Henry and Esther Foshee. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, July 17, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Charles grew up in Uvalde and he served in the U.S. Navy after high school. He came to Odessa in 1982 from Monahans. He worked for United Industries for a number of years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. His family and friends meant the world to him. He touched all their lives and they will cherish many good memories. His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his stepson, Mark Lieb of Odessa; stepson, Mike Lieb of Houston; stepdaughter, Carolyn Roberts of Lima, Ohio; sister, Betty Peebles of New Braunfels; brother, Harold Foshee of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Nora Agnes Fetters ODESSA - Nora Agnes Fetters, 61, of Odessa passed away Monday, July 15, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born Sept. 9, 1940, in Omaha, Neb. Mrs. Fetters was a longtime resident of Odessa. She was a computer operator and of the Episcopal faith. She is survived by five sons, Donald Ray Roys Jr. of Odessa, Marty Keck of Barstow, Chris Keck, Curtis Fetters and Michael Fetters, all of Odessa; daughter, Nora Daniels of Kissimmee, Fla.; mother and stepfather, Georgia and George Duesler of Odessa; brother, Charles Arthur Fetters of Des Moines, Iowa; and numerous grandchildren. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Lloyd Waddington Jr. STRAWN - Lloyd Stanley "L.S." Waddington Jr. died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at a Fort Worth hospital. He was 80. He was born Aug. 10, 1921, in Mingus to Eunice Stewart and Lloyd Stanley Waddington Sr. of Mingus and, later, Ranger. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Barbara Gailey Waddington of near Strawn; and his sister, Joyce Waddington (Mrs. Robert Sterling) Short of Dallas. He is survived by a son, Don Lloyd Waddington of Strawn, formerly of Fort Worth and Weatherford; a daughter, Sandi Garnett of Arlington; a brother, CDR Jack Waddington, USN, Retired, of Dallas; four grandchildren, Jason Hart, Jeremy and Jared Garnett, all of Arlington, and Terra Dawn Waddington of Springfield, Mo.; two great-grandchildren; and other loved relatives and friends. Mr. Waddington attended school in Mingus and Strawn and attended the University of Texas at Austin. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, flying combat missions in the P-51 Mustang in the European Theater of Operations where he was a member of the 15th AAF P-51 Mustang fighter group in Italy. He flew his first combat mission over enemy territory as a member of a fighter escort with a high altitude heavy bomber unit attacking railroad bridges in northern Italy. He had attained the rank of captain when he was released from duty at the war's end. He and his family lived a number of years in Abilene where he was first employed by his cousin, Don Waddington, as manager of Waddington's Ladies Apparel and later, he was manager of Ernest Grissom's Department Stores. While in Abilene he served a term as president of the Abilene Downtown Association. He and Mrs. Waddington then moved to Odessa where he managed the Model Shop Department Stores, later purchasing the stores and operating them until he closed them when he retired. Upon retirement, they built a ranch home at their land south of Strawn on the Strawn Desdemona Highway where he continued to ranch and farm for some years. He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge in Gordon. His great love was his family, taking great pride in his children and grandchildren. Next to family he loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing as well as ranching and farming. He was an avid bass fisherman. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Strawn with the Rev. Jerry Speer officiating. Burial will be at Mount Marion Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Ann Pinnell 'Penny' Ramsey Thompson ODESSA - Penny's sweet spirit left this earth Saturday, July 13, 2002, at her residence in Houston, Texas. She was born July 28, 1938, in Andrews County, Texas, to E.L. and Billie Irwin Edmiston. Penny is survived by her wonderful husband, Martin Thompson; daughter and husband, Jan and Carl Fitzhugh; son and wife, Eddie and Gisela Ramsey; stepson and wife, Steve and Janice Thompson; grandson and wife, Marty and Kara; granddaughter, Kelly; sister and husband, Lindsay and Clif Zant; brother and wife, Frank and Pat Edmiston; brother, Bill Edmiston; nieces, Kelly, Jennifer, Annalee, Marny and Patty; great-nephews and nieces, Zant, Hunter, Shelby, Cody and Justin; special aunt and cousin, Louise and Phil Irwin; and countless friends from around the world. A memorial service celebrating her life is scheduled at 11 a.m. today, July 17, 2002, at Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ in Odessa, Texas. Penny delighted in sharing her heart, time and talents with her family, friends, church, clients and employees. She enjoyed traveling, was a gracious hostess and touched people all over the world with her love for life. Penny was a member of the Church of Christ with a sustaining faith and love for the Lord. Penny's career as an interior designer reflected her devotion to home and family. Her warm, fun loving and enthusiastic personality made her a natural for creating beautiful homes for her clients and friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Amato, Dr. Kevin Slawin, Suzanne Breheny and the entire staff at Scott Urology Group for their dedication to Penny as they fought together so valiantly. A special thanks is also gratefully sent to all of the Angels on Main Sixth Floor Methodist Hospital in Houston who cared for her so lovingly this past year.
