Romero ODESSA - Johnny F. Romero of Odessa died Thursday, July 18, 2002, at his residence. He was born Sept. 30, 1944, in Burns, Ind. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army as a proud member of the 1st Infantry Division. He was employed with Abbott Building Co. for the past 31 years as a construction foreman. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2002, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with the Rev. Pablo Tiong officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Romero; mother, Benencia Nunez; and brother, Salvador Romero. He is survived by his wife, Eva M. Romero of Odessa; five sons, Samuel Romero and wife Christina of Arlington, Oscar Aguero and wife Cheri of Odessa, John Romero, Paul Romero and Robert Romero, all of Dallas; two brothers, Alejo Romero of Decatur, Ind., and Zeke Romero of Redwood, Calif.; three sisters, Elizabeth Avila and Noemi Pena, both of Crystal City, and Minerva Espinosa of Turlock, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
