He was born Sept. 20, 1921, in De Kalb to Hugh Atkins and Gertrude Cunningham. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Griffin Jones and the Rev. Jack Watkins officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Cunningham married Bessie Clark on June 24, 1939, in Texarkana, Ark. They moved to Odessa in 1950. He was employed as a tool pusher for over 25 years. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by son, Benny Hugh Cunningham; brothers, Jack Cunningham, Buster Cunningham and Billy Cunningham; and sisters, Mary Provins and Grace Randolph. He is survived by his wife, Bessie Cunningham of Odessa; son, Tom Cunningham and wife Peg of Westminster, Colo.; daughter, Paula McMillian and husband Cliff of Odessa; grandsons, John Cunningham and wife Devin of Lafayette, Colo., and Charlie McMillian and fiancee Shenna Richards of College Station; granddaughters, Julie Cunningham of Littleton, Colo., and Candi Leverett and husband Jason of Odessa; and great-grandchildren, Sean, Derek and Chloe Cunningham, Ryen Mudadi and Cason Leverett. He was born Oct. 11, 1970, in Odessa to Arnulfo and Viola Juarez. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, July 24, 2002, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with the Rev. Pablo Tiong officiating. Interment will be at Ector County Cemetery. Mr. Juarez was a 2002 honors graduate of Odessa College. He was the manager of Juarez Trucking. Jacob Jeremy North ODESSA - Jacob Jeremy North, 10, passed away Monday, July 22, 2002, at his residence. He was born Jan. 6, 1992, in Odessa to Jimmy Brewer and Latonnie North. He was a student at Austin Elementary. Patricia Ann Lane ODESSA - Patricia Ann Lane, 62, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born on May 21, 1940, in Houston to Waldron Bruce Childers and Leona Foreman Childers. She married Kenneth R. Lane April 17, 1959, in Odessa. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Wayne Sorrells. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth R. Lane of Odessa; sons, Jeff Lane and wife Tonya of Odessa and Kenny Lane and wife Diane of Midland; daughters, Vickie Rose and husband Billie and Rhonda Lane, all of San Antonio, and Wendy Alexander and husband Robert of New Orleans, La.; twin sister, Sandra Stovall and husband V.A. of Victoria; sisters, Dolores Jean Beverly and Theda Rogers, both of Lake Worth, Fla.; brothers, Shelby Lee Childers of Lake Worth, Fla., James Eugene Childers of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Phillip W. Grace Helen Roach ODESSA - Grace Helen Roach, 72, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. Grace Helen Roach was born Sept. 5, 1929, in Milam County to Tom and Mary Burditt. She was the seventh child of eight siblings. She moved to Odessa in 1940, where she remained until her death. She was united in marriage to V.B. Roach on Aug. 25, 1959. He preceded her in death April 23, 1988. She professed a faith in Christ at an early age. She united with the Greater St. John Baptist Church under the pastorate of the Rev. L.H. Hall. Later she became one of the founding members of St. Matthew Baptist Church, which was organized in 1961 with the Rev. Rufus McClain. She worked diligently with the women's mission and the choir. She was known affectionately throughout the community and the church as "Aunt Grace." Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2002, at St. Matthew Baptist Church with the Rev. Henry Lovelady officiating. Burial will be at Ector County Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Burditt, and her mother, Mary Banks. She is survived by a brother, L.C. Burditt of Odessa; a cousin, A.D.
