All rights reserved =========================================================================== Thursday August 29, 2002 Jodie Pearl Poyner ODESSA - On Aug. 27, 2002, Jodie Pearl Poyner went to be with her Jesus, to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Jodie was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a cherished sister and friend. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. Jodie Pearl Poyner was born May 6, 1929, in Crafton, Texas. She lived in Odessa for the past 47 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Pigg; brothers, J.C. "Son" Pigg and Troy Pigg; sisters, Ollie Margaret Thompson and Georgia Cunningham. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, W.L. "Les" Poyner of Odessa; children, Darvin Poyner and wife Becky, Icy Kannel and husband David, Roy Poyner and Jim Poyner, all of Odessa, Tom Poyner and wife Dawn of Meridian and Walt Poyner and wife Tamara of Midland; sisters, Jewel O’Neal, Mary Walker, Vinia Meyers and Nelta Walker; grandchildren, Jason and Christina Poyner, Jody Bailey, Stuart Bailey, Nick and Melody Kannel, Taber White, Bailey Poyner, Gabrie Gallier, Taylor Gallier, and Trent Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Mireya and Savanna Kannel; and many, many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raul Puente officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
