All rights reserved =========================================================================== Thursday September 19, 2002 William Edward Cockrell ODESSA - William Edward Cockrell, 53, an oilfield welder, passed Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born March 31, 1949, in Logans Port, La. He moved to Hobbs, N.M. at an early age where he was raised and educated. He entered the Navy and served at Vietnam from 1966 to 1972. He was a gunner in the Navy. He worked as a welder in the oilfields most of his life. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at Northside Baptist Church with Brother Clydel Chapman officiating. He is survived by his father, John Holly of Plains; mother, Audrey Dyer of Plains; wife, Delinda C. Cockrell of Odessa; sons, Thomas Cockrell and Greggory Cockrell, both of Odessa; stepson, Stephen Workman of Ballinger; daughter, Kelli Cockrell of Odessa; stepdaughter, Nicole Workman of Ballinger; brother, John Stan Holly of New Braunfels; sisters, Deborah Spears of Plains and Delores Knotts of Lovington, N.M.; two grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
