Ernie Beaver ODESSA - Who is this man whom God called the Rev. Ernie Beaver? God looked down the road of time and called Ernie Beaver my beloved son. I have called you to such a time as this. I have called you to bring my children to me. Ernie did what God told him to do no matter what the cost. He served God unmatched. He served his country in the Army as an airborne ranger with all of his heart, too. He always said that as a sinner he had served the devil with every fiber of his being and as a child of God he would serve his God with all his mind, body, and soul. Strangers weren't in his vocabulary. He had a huge compassion for people in need. One of his biggest joys was to feed the hungry (physically and spiritually). He gave many people a bed and food and still had room for more. His guitar playing was comparable to very few. His song writing was enjoyed around the world with songs like "It's Such A Pretty World Today." A plaque now stands in the Country Music Hall of Fame for the many songs he wrote. His prized possession was just KNOWING that his name was in Heaven's Hall of Fame. Ernie Beaver touched many lives and his memory will definitely linger on. Thanks for the memories our dear husband, daddy, pastor, teacher and friend. Earnie is survived by his wife, Pauletta Jo Beaver of Odessa; sons, Aaron Ladd Delcambre of Hazelton, Idaho, and Jerold Lynn Poindexter, Anthony Louis Poindexter and Alfansi Louis Poindexter, all of Longview; daughter, Aprill Lynn Campbell of Springfield, Ore.; brothers, Marion Lee Beaver of Jerome, Idaho, R.D. Beaver Jr. of Carlsbad, Idaho, and Robert Wayne Beaver of Utah; sister, Dorothy Lillian Johnson of Ballinger; and 14 grandchildren.
