All rights reserved =========================================================================== Friday October 18, 2002 Terry Lee Bailey ODESSA -Terry Lee Bailey, 54, passed away from this earthly life and took hold of eternal life to which he was called. He passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at Hospice House in Odessa after fighting a battle with cancer. Mr. Bailey was born Dec. 11, 1947, in Quincy, Ill., to Glen C. and Dorothy Bailey. He was raised and educated in Quincy, Ill., during the Vietnam War and also in the Philippines. Mr. Bailey moved to Odessa in 1995. He married Sandra Robinson on May 1, 1999, in Odessa. He was a very talented man who excelled in many careers, but found his true calling as a nurse. He touched many lives while working at Avalon Place and Memorial Rehabilitation. Terry has had an impact on so many people, both family and friends. Terry truly loved helping people. He was proud of his Cherokee heritage, and may his spirit soar with the eagles and run with the wolves. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed by all. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Westover Baptist Church. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents, Glen C. and Dorothy O'Dear Bailey; and a brother, Jackie Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Bailey of Odessa; sons, Terry C. Bailey of Irving and Dan Shirley, Amos Humphreys and Lyle Welty, all of Odessa; daughters, Terry Burdon and husband Clive of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Tonya Steward of Quincy, Ill., and Michelle Brown and Melissa Dunlap, both of Odessa; brothers, Glen A. Bailey of Quincy, Ill., Marvin C. Bailey of Fowler, Ill., and Donald R. Bailey of Harrison, Ark.; sisters, Mary Ella Goertz and Dixie Darlene Oenning, both of Quincy, Ill., and Brenda Bailey of Abilene; one aunt; nine grandchildren; several nephews, nieces and cousins; and a host of friends. Memorials may be directed to Hospice House, 903 N. Sam Houston Ave., Odessa, TX, 79763. Services entrusted to Memorial Services/Chapa Funeral Home, 404 N. Washington Ave. Jack William Hampton Jr. ODESSA - Jack William Hampton Jr., of Odessa, died on Oct. 15, 2002. He was born on Jan. 17, 1931, in Ballinger and graduated from McMurry College and Perkins School of Theology at SMU. He also owned PIP Printing for approximately 18 years. He was a member of St. Barnabas and St. John Episcopal Churches. Jack is preceded in death by his sister, Sue Lee; and his parents, Jack and Helen Hampton. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Robison of Fort Stockton, Donna Rogers of San Angelo and Margaret Kull of Odessa. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church with the Revs. David Veal and Laura Dedrick officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Barnabas and St. John Episcopal Churches. Geraldine Cross ODESSA - Geraldine Cross, 84, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at Avalon Place. She was born Dec. 24, 1917, in Aspermont, Texas. She had worked as a nurse's aide for Avalon Place years ago. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orpha Cross; and son, Dickey Cross. She is survived by sons, Gary Cross of Odessa, Danny Cross of Arlington, Texas, and Tommy Cross of St. Louis, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Georgia, Jami, Robby, Joni, David, Lance, Barry, Richard, Randall, Bobby and Holly; and 15 great- grandchildren, Daphne, Page, Chance, Makayla, Blaine, Jandy, Brady, Jacob, Justin, Ashley, Bailey, Troy, Trey, Kiara Sutton and Ndiaye Sutton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Chad Durhan and Don Potter officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
