All rights reserved =========================================================================== Sunday October 20, 2002 Beatrice Forester DENTON - Beatrice Forester, 88, of North Richland Hills, a homemaker, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Tremont Nursing Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, in the Schmitz-Floyd-Anderson Chapel with the Rev. Buddy Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. She was born in Odessa. She was a 50-year member of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lock Stewart Forester. Lock's entire business career was with Southwestern Bell. He was a descendent of a pioneer ranching family in Denton County. The Forester Ranch is a designated historic site in Denton County. She is survived by three brothers, Eldon Halbrook and wife Florence and H.J. Halbrook, all of Odessa and Lloyd Halbrook and wife Edith of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes a special heartfelt thank you to Bea's friends and neighbors who have shown much love and kindness. Gene W. Zeigler KERMIT - Gene W. Zeigler, 55, of Wink, a teacher football coach at Ector Junior High, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Lena Laughlin Auditorium in Wink with the Rev. Gary Redwine officiating. Burial will follow in the Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel. He was born Sept. 12, 1947, in Jasper. He married Linda Fuller on May 1, 1970, in Farmington, N.M. He was resident of Wink for 11 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wink. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gene Zeigler Scholarship Memorial at the Southwest Bank in Wink. He is survived by his wife, Linda Zeigler of Wink; two sons, Todd Zeigler and Mark Zeigler, both of Odessa; and two grandchildren. James Randolph Fitzgerald Sr. ODESSA - James Randolph Fitzgerald Sr., 61, of Odessa, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at Hospice House. He was born May 25, 1941, to Thomas R. Fitzgerald and Goldie Bell White in Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. Fitzgerald married Illa G. Eaves on July 16, 1960, in Snyder, Texas. Mr. Fitzgerald was a foster parent for many years. He worked as an insurance salesman, roustabout in the oilfield, service station attendant, truck driver, Del-Tex Candy, bread delivery, Prices Creameries Milk Delivery Distributorship and the government as a FEMA instructor and coordinator for nine years, retiring in 1992. He had several hobbies including fishing, art, football, baseball, basketball, track, collecting ducks, hunting, camping and politics. He was a boxing coach for the Golden Gloves for 15 to 20 years, "star" boy scout and a scout master for several years and a grant writer. He was a member of several clubs, including Jaycees in Andrews, Texas, and Lovington, N.M., Kiwanis, Odd Fellows, the Moose Lodge of Truth or Consequences, N.M. He was an achiever and a competitive person. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church. He is preceded in death by his mother, Goldie Fitzgerald; his mother-in-law, Nina Eaves; his brother-in-law, Robert Stark; and his granddaughter, Charlotte Ann Thomas. Survivors include his wife, Illa G. Fitzgerald; his father, Thomas R. Fitzgerald; his daughters, Nina Xan Simonson and husband Jeff of Mesa, Ariz., Gina Ann Thomas and husband Paul of Truth or Consequences, N.M. and Robina Esquivel and husband John of San Marcos, Texas; his son, James Randolph Fitzgerald Jr. and wife Dalia of El Paso, Texas; his sisters, Nadine Sellers and husband Don of Granbury, Texas and Lenora Nelson and husband Luke of Denver City, Texas; his grandchildren, James R. Fitzgerald III and wife Isabel of El Paso, Texas, Robert J. Simonson of Mesa, David Fitzgerald of Tucson, Ariz., JJ Esquivel of San Marcos, Chad T. Simonson of Mesa, Ashley G. Fitzgerald of Kermit, Texas, Shelby L. Simonson of Mesa, Daryl H. Thomas of Truth or Consequences and William Gobel of El Paso; his great-granddaughter, Paris Novell Fitzgerald of El Paso; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are James R. Fitzgerald III, Robert J. Simonson, David F. Fitzgerald, Chad T. Simonson, JJ Esquivel Jr., Johnny Nelson, Chris Nelson, Joel Fitzgerald, James Gavin, Jessie Rivera, Bobbie Gutierrez and Robert Gutierrez. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Woody Allen officiating. Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials may be sent to Hospice House of Odessa, Texas. Doyle G. McBride ODESSA - Doyle G. McBride, 72, of Odessa, passed away Oct. 18, 2002. He was born to Roy Lee McBride and Anna Cantwell McBride on Oct. 8, 1930, in Abernathy, Texas. He married Josephine Cotton on February 8, 1952, in Lubbock, Texas, and has lived in and around Odessa for over 40 years. Mr. McBride was the owner and operator of McBride Trucking for 13 years and was also in the radiator business for 20 years. Doyle was a very respected, down-to- earth man who knew no strangers. His family was his pride and joy, and he loved them very much. Mr. McBride was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee McBride; his mother, Anna Cantwell McBride; his son, David Ray McBride; and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Josephine McBride of Odessa; his sons, Michael McBride and wife Anna of Odessa and Russell McBride and wife Reba of Odessa; his daughters, Bobbie Dirden and husband Richard of Odessa, Mary Stewart of Midland and Barney Smith of Odessa; brother, Bill McBride of Odessa; sister, Dorothy Skidmore of Roanoke, Texas; eight grandsons and four granddaughters; and 1 great-granddaughter. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Mike Bartlett of Greenfield Acres Baptist Church will be officiating.
