All rights reserved =========================================================================== Tuesday October 22, 2002 Dulces Nombres Bejaran MONAHANS - Dulces Nombres Bejaran, 59, of Monahans, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at her residence. She was born Jan. 23, 1943, in Terlingua, Texas, to Simona and Jose Morales. She married Benny Bejaran on Aug. 10, 1963, in Saragosa, Texas. She is survived by her loving husband, Benny Bejaran of Monahans; five sons, Edward Bejaran and Jesse Bejaran, both of Monahans, Robert Bejaran of Odessa, Benny Bejaran Jr. of Del Rio and Joe Bejaran of Bridgeport; six brothers, Armando Morales of Saragosa; Manuel Morales of Monahans; Juaquin Morales of Roswell, N.M., Tranquilino Morales of Pleasanton, Felix Morales of Paris and Ramon Morales of Kossie; sister Senorina Nunuz of Monahans; and 10 grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Monahans. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Monahans with Pastor Mark Bristow officiating. Burial will be at the Monahans Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home in Monahans. James Randolph Fitzgerald Sr. James Randolph Fitzgerald Sr., 61, of Odessa, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at Hospice House. He was born May 25, 1941, to Thomas R. Fitzgerald and Goldie Bell White in Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. Fitzgerald married Illa G. Eaves on July 16, 1960, in Snyder, Texas. Mr. Fitzgerald was a foster parent for many years. He worked as an insurance salesman, roustabout in the oilfield, service station attendant, truck driver, Del-Tex Candy, bread delivery, Prices Creameries Milk Delivery Distributorship and the government as a FEMA instructor and coordinator for nine years, retiring in 1992. He had several hobbies including fishing, art, football, baseball, basketball, track, collecting ducks, hunting, camping, gambling and politics. He was a boxing coach for the Golden Gloves for 15 to 20 years, "star" boy scout and a scout master for several years and a grant writer. He was a member of several clubs, including Jaycees in Andrews, Texas and Lovington, N.M., Kiwanis, Odd Fellows, the Moose Lodge of Truth or Consequences, N.M. He was an achiever and a competitive person. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church. He is preceded in death by his mother, Goldie Fitzgerald; his mother-in-law, Nina Eaves; his brother-in-law, Robert Stark; and his granddaughter, Charlotte Ann Thomas. Survivors include his wife, Illa G. Fitgerald; his father, Thomas R. Fitzgerald; his daughters, Nina Xan Simonson and husband Jeff of Mesa, Ariz., Gina Ann Thomas and husband Paul of Truth or Consequences, N.M. and Robina Esquivel and husband John of San Marcos, Texas; his son, James Randolph Fitzgerald Jr. and wife Dalia of El Paso, Texas; his brother, Ronnie Fitzgerald; his sisters, Nadine Sellers and husband Don of Granbury, Texas and Lenora Nelson and husband Luke of Denver City, Texas; his grandchildren, James R. Fitzgerald III and wife Isabel of El Paso, Texas, Robert J. Simonson of Mesa, David Fitzgerald of Tucson, Ariz., JJ Esquivel of San Marcos, Chad T. Simonson of Mesa, Ashley G. Fitzgerald of Kermit, Texas, Shelby L. Simonson of Mesa, Daryl H. Memorials may be sent to Hospice House of Odessa, Texas. Rosa Ellen Jones ODESSA - Rosa Ellen Jones, 63, went to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 18, 2002. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mission Dorado Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert L. Bratcher officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Frank Wilson Funeral Home. Rosa Ellen was born Aug. 15, 1939, in Pecos, Texas, to Raymon and Pearla Metcalf Hallard. Rosa was a graduate of Odessa High School and received a bachelor's degree in library science from Texas Women's University. She continued her education at Sul Ross State University, earning a master's degree in education. Rosa married Robert E. Jones on Sept. 3, 1965, and was a longtime resident of Monahans, Texas. She served as librarian for the Monahans Independent School District for many years, before moving to Odessa. She retired from the Ector County Independent School District, after 14 years of service at Travis Elementary School. Along with her love of reading, Rosa was a talented musician and artist. She was a founding member of the bluegrass band Sundown and a member of the Mission Dorado Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Duward Jones; and a son, Royce E. Jones. Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Jones of Odessa; a son, Raymon E. Jones and his wife Stephanie of Odessa; a daughter-in-law, Amber Jones of San Angelo; four grandchildren, Tyler, Cole and Skyler Jones, all of Odessa, and Rachel Jones of San Angelo; mother-in-law, Neoma H. Jones of Odessa; two brothers-in- law, Stanley Jones and his wife Linda and Dean Jones and his wife Gracie, all of Odessa; a sister-in-law, Janice Cummings and her husband Tommy of Ranger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathleen Keller Farrell KELLER - Kathleen Keller Farrell, 78, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, in Keller after a courageous battle with cancer. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Dallas-Fort Worth Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Metroport Meals on Wheels, Box 204, Roanoke, TX, 76252; or the Salvation Army, 1855 E. Lancaster, Fort Worth, TX, 76102. Kathleen was born in Houston, Texas, and graduated from St. Agnes Academy and attended Rice University. She worked for Humble Oil and Shell during World War II. In 1946, she married Baylis Earle Farrell Jr. They moved to Odessa in 1947, where Baylis was employed in the oil industry and Kathleen was a homemaker and mother. Kathleen and the family accompanied Baylis on several work assignments, including two years in Mexico and one year in Canada. Kathleen and Baylis moved to Lubbock in 1988, and lived there until 1996, when they relocated to Keller. She was Catholic and served for many years as a member of the Altar Society. She was also active in civic and charitable organizations in the communities where she lived. Kathleen enjoyed tole painting and music. She delighted many people through her gifts of her artwork. Her friends and family will miss the joy that Kathleen brought to everyone. Survivors include her husband, Baylis Farrell; daughter, Cynthia Easley and her husband Greg; and son, Earle Farrell and his wife Cathy and their children J.B. Farrell and Taylor Farrell, all of Memphis, Tenn. Petra Garcia Lara PECOS - Petra Garcia Lara, 74, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, in Pecos. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos. Burial will follow at Toyah Cemetery in Toyah. Arrangements by Peaceful Garden Funeral Home of Pecos. Petra was born in Toyah. She was Catholic. Her husband, Donaciano Lara Sr. and one son, Oscar Lara preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Donaciano Lara Jr. and wife Mary of Grand Prairie; daughters, Mary Carrillo and husband Gilbert, Prescilla Garcia and husband Octavio, Olga Armendariz and husband Herman and Sulema Flores and husband David, all of Pecos, and Rebecca Prieto and husband Manuel of Odessa; sister, Ramona Chavez of Holland, Mich.; niece, Vickie Reynosa of Odessa; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Ethel L. Scott CRANE - Ethel L. Scott, 81, of Crane, died on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at her home in Odessa. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at Shaffer- Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Crane County Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer- Nichols Funeral Home. She was born on July 18, 1921, in Wall, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Crane. She was preceded in death by her mother, Addie Myrtle Williams; her father, Earl Williams; her two daughters, Sandra Martin and Peggy Foster; her son, Leonard Earl Gobble; her brother, Garland Williams; her sister, Lois Loyless; and her great-grandson, Jerid Wells. She is survived by her sisters, Billie J. Wilkins and husband Ray of Odessa, Earlene Shaver and husband Rayford of Monahans and Velma Williams of Abilene; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes a special heartfelt thank you to Odyssey Healthcare of Odessa, who has shown so much kindness.
