All rights reserved =========================================================================== Sunday, November 28, 2002 Permian Basin Obituaries Buna Fay Collier ODESSA - Buna Fay Collier, 84, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Hospice House. She was born July 16, 1918, in Princeton. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Johnny Thomason officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Pyron Cemetery near Snyder. Mrs. Collier moved to Odessa in 1944 from Bisbee, Ariz. She and her husband Robert were the owners of Collier Laudromat and she was a member of the Central Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert Collier of Odessa; daughters, Janice Fay and husband Mike Harp of Waller, Bobbie Gayle Badger of Midland; grandsons, Brian Harp and wife Cheri, Robert Badger Jr. and Matthew Badger; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Allison and Morgan; sister, Alene Mondy of Odessa; brother, Hollis Carman of Palestine; and several nieces and nephews. Services have been entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Jesusita G. Diaz ODESSA - Jesusita G. Diaz, 80 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born on August 9, 1922 in Ft. Stockton. She married Pablo Diaz on July 25, 1949, in Fort Stockton and has been in the community since 1952. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Lionarez Gonzales, sister, Paula Donnelly, brother, Reymundo Gonzales. She is survived by her husband, Pablo Diaz of Odessa; daughters, Cruz Diaz, Gloria Veloz and Ernestina Romero, all of Odessa; brothers, Marcial Gonzales and Sisto Gonzales, both of Odessa, and Guillermo Gonzales of Dallas; sisters, Maria Gonzales, Josie Simmons, Bernarda Sanchez and Juliana Pacheco, all of Odessa; grandchildren, Jesus Romero III, Juan Pablo Romero and Frederick Moses Veloz; and great-grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Romero, Emily Lynn Romero and Jesus Romero IV. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at 7 p.m. at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 29, 2002, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Sanchez, Michael Sanchez, Avery Simmons, Jose Pacheco, Joel Gonzales, Adan Sanchez, Reynaldo Sanchez and Steven Rojo. Services by Odessa Funeral Home. Jacobs Price ‘Jake’ Roach ANDREWS - Jacobs Price "Jake" Roach, 93, of Andrews passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, in Andrews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews. Rev. Bob Zap will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews West Cemetery. Jake was born March 2, 1909, in Paint Rock. He married Aliene Reynolds in 1936 and moved to Andrews in 1943 with his family. Aliene preceded him in death in 1990. He worked for Exxon for 45 years. He was a West Texas Rancher. He was a member of Means Memorial United Methodist Church since 1943. He was a founding member of the Andrews Country Club. He served as President of the Andrews School Board and Permian General Hospital. He was honored as citizen of the year in Andrews in 1985. In August 1991, he married Dorothy Belcher. He is survived by: Wife, Dorothy Roach of Andrews; daughter, Barbara Armstrong of Andrews; sister, Reba Lochabay of Snyder; and grandchildren, Sheri Jones of Lubbock, Kevin Whelchel of Houston and Cody Whelchel of Andrews; and great-grandaughter, Baili Jones of Lubbock.
