Thursday, December 05, 2002 Permian Basin Obituaries Ronald Brookover GLEN ROSE - Ronald Fred Brookover, 55, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, in Glen Rose. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Acton United Methodist Church in Acton. Burial will follow at Acton Cemetery. Mr. Brookover was born Feb. 20, 1947, in Crane. He graduated from Ector High School in Odessa and was a member of the Antioch Christian Church in Odessa. He had resided in Glen Rose for the past two years, having previously lived at the Volunteers of America Group Home in Fort Worth. Survivors include his mother, Dorris A. Brookover of Granbury; father, LeRoy Ernest Brookover of Glen Rose; and several cousins. Services are entrusted to Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Ector Co. All rights reserved =========================================================================== Ramon Galindo ODESSA - Ramon Galindo, 76, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, in Odessa after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Rebecca; six wonderful children: daughter, Noemi Anderson and husband Jim of Fort Davis; sons, Raymond Daniel Galindo of Tacoma, Wash., Tony Galindo and wife Mary, Augustine Galindo and wife Janie, and Victor Galindo and wife Maria, all of Odessa, and Omar Galindo and wife Lillian of Southlake; as well as 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustine Galindo and Manuela Tavarez, and his daughter Martha Hudson. He was born in Shafter, Texas, on June 30, 1926. He grew up in Presidio, Texas, and Chih, Mexico. Ramon was a building contractor in Odessa for 47 years. He was a member of St. Anthony’s and St. Mary’s Catholic Churches. He was a founder of the Southside Barrio Lions Club, director of the International Lions Clubs, past president of the Basin Lions Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1958. He was one of the first Hispanic businessmen in Odessa and was nominated for SBA Businessman of the Year. He was also involved in many charities and fund-raisers. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Revs. Frances Frey and Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at the Ector County Cemetery.
