All rights reserved =========================================================================== Sunday, December 08, 2002 Permian Basin Obituaries Woodrow Freeman ODESSA - Woodrow Freeman, 90-years-old, of Odessa, died Dec. 6, 2002, at the Home Hospice House in Odessa. He was born March 21, 1912, in Grossbeck, Texas, to James and Phoebe Freeman. He married Lota I. McAnally on Dec. 2, 1933, in Loraine Texas. He was a faithful member of Faith Community Baptist Church up until his illness, and he retired as a Rig Mechanic for Harlow Simmons after 21 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his time around his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sons, Melvin A. Freeman and Dale C. Freeman; parents, James and Phoebe Freeman; two brothers; and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Lota Freeman of Odessa; two sons, Derwood Freeman and wife Berne of Odessa and Michael Freeman and wife Charolette of Odessa; one daughter, Beverly Blackburn and husband Bill of Odessa; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. The family plans to visit with friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at Faith Community Baptist Church, 9902 W. University Blvd., with the Rev. Wayne Shelton officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Jerry B. Null ODESSA - Jerry B. Null, 68, of Odessa, died Dec. 6, 2002, at her residence in Odessa. She was born April 7, 1934, in Wallace, Ark. She came to Odessa in the late 1940s. She married James L. Null on Feb. 29, 1952, in Carlsbad, N.M. She was the owner of the Book Nook from 1975 to 1998. She spent a lot of time with her children and was loving mother, wife and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Null; and her parents, Freeman W. Bailey and Ruby Ollinger. She is survived by sister, Norma Jene Reese and husband Billy of Nash, Texas; sons, James Null and wife H.K. of Odessa and David Alan and wife Celena of Houston; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002 at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. Her family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Home Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Home Hospice.
