All rights reserved =========================================================================== Friday December 27, 2002 Permian Basin Obituaries Robert Lee Bagley ODESSA - Robert (Bob) Lee Bagley, 73, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24 at this residence after a battle with emphysema and lung cancer. Robert was born Sept. 18, 1929 to Nathan Bagley and Belle Speed in Lorenzo, Texas. He moved to Odessa in 1945. Robert married Phyllis Hummel Feb. 19, 1950. He was active in, as well as a leader of, the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He enjoyed working with kids and loved to fish and camp. He was employed by M&M Sales for over 30 years. Robert was a father figure to all who knew him. He was a man that lived by The Golden Rule, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Robert was a man who never had an unkind word to say to anyone and never said no to anyone. He lived his life for everyone around him, he never knew a stranger and will be deeply missed. Robert was an active member of Temple Baptist Church. Robert was preceded in death by a son, Charles W. Bagley, Sr., his mother Belle Speed and his father, Nathan Bagley. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Bagley; a son Phillip Bagley; three brothers, Walter Bagley of Mineral Wells, Texas, Butch Bagley, Mineral Wells, Texas, and Charles Key of Sanford, Texas; sister, Betty Jo Hall of Heavner, Okla.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Temple Baptist Church with Reverend Jack Watkins and Reverend Walter McCall presiding. Family visitation will be held Friday at Frank Wilson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Services are under direction of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home. William "Bill" W. Clark ODESSA - William "Bill" W. Clark was born Feb. 8, 1937, in Good, W.Va., to Gordon and Carmen Clark. He was called home to be with his Lord Monday, Dec. 23, 2002. Bill was raised in the hills of West Virginia where he and his family operated a sawmill. He had many fond memories of cutting timber and he had a great love and respect for the outdoors and all of God’s creations. Bill joined the Air Force in 1954 and was transferred to Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring after he completed his firefighting training. Bill met and fell in love with Jeanine Hill and they were married Nov. 2, 1957, in Seminole. Upon completion of his service duty, he went to work for Texas Electric as a lineman. He worked as a system operator for several years before becoming a line patrolman. He retired from Texas Electric after 35 years of service. Bill was a gentle, loving man that was extremely devoted to his family and church, Kingston Ave. Baptist Church, where he was a member for 35 years. Bill was involved with many different organizations through the years, which included the Boy Scouts, Royal Ambassadors and the Odessa Optimist Club. He had a special place in his heart for all children. His favorite charities were the Christian Children’s Fund and St. Jude’s Hospital. Bill was the perfect example of what a husband, father, grandfather and friend should be. He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Clark, and oldest son, William Clark. Bill is survived by his mother, Carmen Bunner and step-father, Alfred, of West Virginia; his wife of 45 years, Jeanine Clark; son, Mark Clark and son and daughter-in-law, Darren and D’Ann Clark of Odessa; daughter-in-law, Lana Clark of West Virginia; grandchildren, Brandon Clark of New Mexico, Cori Clark, Justin Clark, Brady Clark and Derek Clark, all of Odessa, Will Clark and Jessica Clark, both of West Virginia; great-grandchild, Alena Clark of Fort Worth; brothers, Robert Clark of West Virginia, Randall Clark of Maryland, Dennie Clark and wife, Christine, of Florida; sister, Juanita Dabbs and husband, David, of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephew, Ronnie Clark of Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Judes of your favorite children’s charity would be appreciated. Wilson Funeral Directors. Leslie Goheen ODESSA - Leslie Wayne "Les" Goheen, 68, of Odessa, our loving father and husband, left us to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002. He was born March 6, 1934, in Anton. He started out as a farmer, then worked in the oilfield for 25 years. In 1975, he and his son opened Goheen Alignment in Odessa. After operating the business for 25 years, he retired in 2001. His son, Donnie, and grandson, Jeramy, still own and operate it. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Lovington, N.M. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Irene Goheen of Odessa; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Kathy Goheen of Gardendale; daughters, Debbie Hall of Schertz and Sue Goheen of Odessa; son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Debbie Watkins of Odessa; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren to whom he was lovingly known as "Papa"; brothers, Tommy of Hereford, Owen of Odessa, Clarence of Pentictin, British Columbia, Wesley of Lewisville and Jerry of Littlefield; sisters, Vernie Jamison of Plainview, Janell Hollers of Lubbock; sister-in-law, Dora Goheen of Levelland; and many nieces and nephews he loved very much. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Weeks Dubose officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. James Boyte Hood ODESSA - Our beloved gentle giant went home to be with his Lord and Master. He was endowed with a most caring and generous heart and spirit. He had a special love for his family. J.B. served his country during World War II, spending most of his time on the island of Iwo-Jima. He was there when the flag was raised to claim victory for his country. He was given an honorable discharge from the Air Force with good conduct medals and ribbons. He is survived by his wife, Ivy Hood of Odessa; three daughters, Kimberly Ann Hood Everett of Fort Worth, Elaine Moore of Hurst and Linda Brown of Odessa; his beloved sons-in-law, Charles Brown of Odessa and Bill Moore of Hurst; his four sweet sisters, Cleta Gann of Iuka, Miss., Nell Weekly of New Orleans, La., Lynn Granger of Lake Charles, La., and Emma Hughens of Shreveport, La. J.B. had nine grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear, sweet friend, Catalina Cano of Odessa. She has been our angel. We love you Cata. Visitation will be held at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Friday. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Wallace, 75, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at Shannon Medical Center. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Johnson’s Funeral Home chapel with Richard Leake officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Billie was born July 19, 1927, in Littlefield, Texas, to W.O. and Laura Mae Bean. She was a resident of San Angelo since 1962, a waitress and housewife. Billie was married to W.R. "Bill" Wallace on Oct. 12, 1965. Her parents and three brothers preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband W.A. "Bill" Wallace of San Angelo; children, Claudia Helms of Odessa, Wanda Edmiston and husband, Phil, of Eldorado, Diana Gross of San Angelo, Geraldine Helms and husband, James, of Odessa, Brenda Smith and husband, Gary, of San Angelo and Rowe Wallace and wife, Kay, of San Angelo; brothers, Vess Bean and wife, Irene, of Levelland and Connie Bean and wife, Betty, of Monahans; sister, Darla Bryant and husband, Buster, of San Angelo; 17 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be San Angelo Police Department officers. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Mohamad A. Ayass, Chaplain Jim Benson, John Hedges RN and all the fourth floor nurses and staff who walked through her door with special loving care. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Charlie Mae Toliver ODESSA - Charlie Mae Toliver, 62, passed from this life Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She was born in Lamesa, Texas, August 5, 1940, to Charlie Frank and Melvina (Green) Spencer. She graduated as Valedictorian from Blackshear Junior-Senior High School in 1959. She then attended the University of Texas. Her religious affiliation was Episcopal. Charlie was a retired U.S. Postal System Employee. Her father, Charlie Frank Spencer; and brother, Frank Howard Spencer, preceded her in death. Survivors include her mother, Melvina (Green) Washington of Odessa; grandmother, Armellia Johnson of Odessa; daughter, Arlett Toliver of Odessa; son, Melvin Jerrod Toliver of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Wanda Faye Gauthier of Alta Loma, Calif., and May Carr of Midland; three grandchildren, Tanaisha Mitchell, Macy Blaylock and Chace Blaylock of Odessa. Public visitation will be Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Martinez Funeral Home with the Rev.
