Some time after his death Bessie came to live with Cletus and Helen who lived in Dallas, Texas. We called her Grandma Besse. I also remember Sister Mary Eugene (Lavada Mary Besse). This group helped to bring the population to 200 so they could have a post office. Funeral for Ennis Man Jan 31 [1936] Funeral Services for Eugene Besse, 59, who died here Thursday, will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Holy Redeemer Church with Rev. Ramon Gomez officiating. Besse had been a resident of Ennis for more than fity years. Surviving are his wife, three sons, Raphael Besse of Kaufman, Clestine of Houston, and Cletus of Ennis, and two daughters, Misses Lavada and Adela Besse of Ennis. Cletus didn't die in WWII -- he died in 1985 and is buried in Dallas. His widow is still alive. NOTE: Ben B. Whitfill married Delima Besse born 27 Dec 1869 in Illinois. Raphael John Besse was the son that died during WWII. He was in the Navy.
