(Tolliver?) Jinks was the eldest child of Tolliver L. Jinks and Olivia "Belle" Harris Jinks. He was born in 1867 in Taylor County Georgia Grandson of Willis and Nicey Martin Jinks also of Taylor County GA died: 26 April 1921 (marked in McKown Bible belonging to descendant) buried: ?Hobart OK ?? married: 1)Carrie Bradley 13 Dec 1893 Navarro Co, TX 22 July 1878 - 17 Jan 1902 Rice Cemetery, Navarro Co, TX 2)Rosa (d/o J.H. and Sarah Curlin - early settlers of Alma; sister of Lela Curlin Whitfill) 10 May 1877 - 24 Mar 1905 3)Loula Berry (Jan 10, 1885 - Mar 30, 1965) Buried Hobart OK Leland, the only settlement between Alma and the Trinity River, was first called "Spunkie's Ridge." Today, a farm- to-market road 1182 passes the place where once stood a gin, store and school. Lived there when Carrie died. Several families from Taylor County settled in this vicinity -- Hobbs, Brewer, Jinks. Oct 1, 1959 The Ennis Weekly Local - Jan 25, 1902 Last Friday night, God saw it was best to call from our midst one of our best and most consistent Christians, Mrs. Carrie Jinks. She was a loving wife, and a kind mother and had many friends who mourn her loss. She leaves a husband and four little children. Her remains were laid to rest in the Rice cemetery Saturday evening. [Jan 17, 1902] 1903 - listed in Reynolds School were Nannie and Tollie Jinks. This school was probably located near Leland. Oct 1, 1912 -- Taylor County News Belle Harris Jinks Bazemore tells of visit to Texas. "eldest son" living in Jermyn...Jack County "he has a beautifully home located in a valley almost surrounded by mountains, and fairly good crops. Crops in this part of Texas were almost a failure last year owing to the dry weather. Allen notary Public of Ellis County. NOTE: Jesse H. Curlin (ca 1829-April 11, 1898) and Sarah Elizabeth McGill Curlin(b. Apr. 4, 1839 in Mississippi)- Jan. 12, 1904. Rosa Curlin Jink's sister was Lena Curlin Whitfill. Deed book 194 Affadavit H.T. Jinks and Rosa Curlin lived together as husband and wife until March 25, 1905 her death. No children 14th Day 1911.
