William HENRY Jinks Family

 

William Henry Jinks was born 18 July 1848  Talbot/Taylor
County, GA the son of   Willis J. Jinks and Nicey Martin
Jinks.

He married  23 Dec 1872 (Taylor Co) Mary Ann H. BREWER
Married by G.L.W. Anthony, Minister of the Gospel.  She was
the daughter of Col Septimus Lemuel Brewer and Amanda Beall
Brewer.  Mary Ann Brewer was born Sept 5, 1849.

W. Henry Jinks served as the official Taylor County (GA)
Surveyor 1887-1889. He moved with his family to Alma in
Ellis Co about 1900. His sister's family -- Winnie Virginia
Jinks Ruffin had previously moved in 1886.

Henry died 21 Apr 1901   on his farm near the old community
of Leland (between Alma and the Trinity River) and is buried
in  Rice Cemetery, Navarro Co, TX.

After his death, the widowed, Mary Ann, lived with their
eldest son, Napoleon Jenks in Louisiana. She later returned
to Taylor County and lived with relatives until her death in
Jun 3, 1939 and is buried in Corbitt's Cemetery - Taylor
County, GA

	Carlie was born in Box Springs, GA (Taylor Co) 22 Dec 1879. 
	Died 16 Apr 1963 in Bogalusa, LA. 
	Buried: Old Red Oak Cemetery, Livingston, LA
	(Moved his family to Louisiana about 1914  when he was
	superintendent of a lumber company. For some reason, the spelling of the last name was changed to "Jenks".

2. Eva Maude 
    born:  Oct 1875
    died: 1926
    married: 1) 24 Oct 1897 Rufus Stewart s/o J.M Stewart.
			Rufus died 25 April 1898, 27 years old
			only married 6 months (Taylor County, GA)
	  2)1899 Joseph Grizzard (1875-1929) (Taylor Co, GA)
	Moved to Ellis/Navarro County living around Alma
All buried in Rice Cemetery - Navarro Co.

3.  Anna Lee

    died: Dec 20, 1950 Sumpter Co GA
    buried: 
    spouse: Robert Hobbs  12-28-1897  J.L. Rustin, JP
	Married in Taylor County, GA
(Son of Willis and Drusilla Peacock Hobbs) Robert born 1874.
Robert Hobbs is buried in Cartwright Cemetery, Schley Co.

4. Beulah
    born: Mar 30, 1879
    died: April 8, 1887  8 years old
    buried: Corbit's Cemetery - Taylor County, GA
   
5. Jewel
    born: April 21, 1882
  Married: William H. Money  Jan 1, 1899
    died:  Sept 27, 1902
    buried:  Rice Cemetery, Navarro Co.
    

6. Allen
    born: Aug 3, 1884 Macon Co 
    died: Jan 9, 1919  Alma, Ellis Co (Influenza epidemic)
    buried: Rice Cemetery, Navarro Co, TX
married: Lockie Victoria Annie Virginia Edwards ca 1906/07
Haskell Co, TX. She was only 16 and the daughter of Mattie
Norris and John Edwards from Morgan Co. AL.

Allen also lived in Alma, TX . After Allen's death, his wife
and children moved with her mother back to Alabama.
