Tabernacle Baptist Church to celebrate 20th anniversary.  Organized with 80
members in the home of Mrs. M.M. Wathen on Oct 3, 1899, and has had but four
pastors - Rev Bennett Hatcher, now in California; Rev. W.K. Penrod, now pastor
in Gonzales; Rev. E.F. Lyon, pastor in San Angelo and the present pastor, Rev.
W.E. Brittain asn average of five years for each pastor.

It is the intention to hold 3 days of celebration Oct 3,4,5 and all the fomer
pastors and members will be invited to attend.  A special committee of M.B.
Moseley, T.B. Goodwin, P.C. Matthews, Jno M. Weekley, Mrs. Wood Adams, Ms. T.B.
Goodwin, Mrs. H.A. VanGordon and Mrs. J.W. Weatherford was appoint to arrange a
progrm and look after the planning for the event.

The church Sunday elected messengers to the County Association which meets in
Midlothian on Wed. for a two days session: Rev. W.E. Brittain, M.D. Glaspy, H.O.
Beasley, Joe Gerault, P.C. Matthews, M.B. Moseley, R.L. Fountain, J.X. Newcomb,
Mesdames Wood Adams, W.E. Brittain, C.L. McCullough, Joe X Newcomb, W.D. Wood,
T.B. Goodwin, Miss Bernadine and Marguerite Burkhead.
