Jack, Jill School Holds Graduation Exercises Friday The Jack and Jill school, conducted by Mrs. W.A. Lyon, had its regular graduating exercises Friday morning in the primary department of the Methodist church. The room was decorated with bowls of daisies. With Mrs. Ethel Fisher at the piano, eighteen youngsters, wearing white caps and gowns, marched in with all the dignity of a college graduate. Jo Ann Wortman gave the address and Mary Helen Owens the closing remarks. Sharon Schween announced all the musical numbers. LaClaire Hermann in a lovely sweet way introduced the speaker, Mrs. Byrne Cooke. She referred to her as a loving and understanding friend of little children. Mrs. Cook gave a most delightful talk, telling and explaining the story of our flag. She then presented each child with the much prized Jack and Jill diploma. Those receiving them were Harry McBrierty, Walter S. Jones, Gary Dunkerley, Gene Thompson, Jim Bob Wilson, Jo Ann Wortman, Gin Hamilton, Patsy Jones, Shirley Harris, Evelyn Fay Nichols, Sam Smith, LaClaire Hermann, Sharon Schween, Teddy Ann Stewart, Dianne Percival, Fred Tyng Jr., Mary Helen Owens and Don Griffith.
